Publisher's Review
≪Reading and Writing in Korean with Thought≫ is a book for Korean language learners who want to improve their reading and writing skills to an intermediate level or higher.
This book aims to help you learn how to systematically structure your writing based on reading, so you can express your thoughts logically.
It is structured as follows to help Korean language learners develop their reading and writing skills in a balanced way.
First, we selected social topics to help you understand various phenomena and problems in Korean society.
The reading passages were composed using intermediate-level vocabulary and grammar or higher, based on an analysis of the topics, difficulty levels, and question characteristics of previous TOPIK II (intermediate and advanced) questions.
Second, the units were organized by linking reading and writing based on one topic.
Reflecting the writing process, each unit consists of 10 steps [①Let's think - ②Let's study vocabulary - ③Let's read carefully - ④Let's read again - ⑤Let's practice expressions - ⑥Let's share thoughts - ⑦Let's make an outline - ⑧Let's write according to the outline - ⑨Let's write on manuscript paper - ⑩Write like this].
Third, by reading, you can study vocabulary, grammar, and text structure, and broaden your understanding of the topic.
Next, through an outline activity, you can organize your thoughts and opinions and express them logically in a complete essay. For each unit, we provide a 700-character manuscript sheet to practice writing question 54 on the TOPIK II (Intermediate/Advanced) so you can write directly in the book.
Fourth, we have included a variety of idiomatic expressions, proverbs, and related expressions to help expand vocabulary.
By learning a variety of expressions with similar meanings, you can further improve your reading and writing skills.
I would like to express my gratitude to the teachers who worked with me for a year and a half to create this wonderful book, and also to the Korean Cultural Publishing Company for their assistance in publishing this book.
