『Essence Ewha Korean』 is a textbook designed for learners who want to acquire the basics of Korean in a short period of time, collecting the essential contents of 『Ewha Korean』, published by Ewha Womans University Language Education Center in 2010.
For the past six years, Ewha Korean has been recognized as a Korean language textbook that leads to efficient and systematic learning, and has been widely used around the world.
However, with the belief that there was a need for a textbook suitable for courses with short class times, such as the short-term courses at Ewha Womans University Language Education Center, the Ewha Womans University Language Education Center published this book.


『Essence Ewha Korean』 is a collection of the most essential learning content from 『Ewha Korean』 and consists of six volumes: 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, and 2C.
『Ewha Korean』 is a communication-centered textbook designed to help the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing develop in a balanced way in various communication situations. 『Essence Ewha Korean』 also maintains these characteristics of 『Ewha Korean』 and is structured so that beginner learners who are new to Korean or have not studied for a long time can approach Korean easily and enjoyably.
Among them, 『Essence Ewha Korean』 1A, 1B, and 1C were produced in four versions, with translations in English, Japanese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, taking into account the needs and convenience of learners.


On the other hand, 2A, 2B, and 2C were produced in Korean without translation to serve as stepping stones to the intermediate level, and grammar explanations, new words, and culture were translated and included in a separate appendix.
Additionally, the textbook's listening materials, including dialogues for each unit, new vocabulary, and model examples of practice problems, are available as MP3 files and can be downloaded for free from the 'Data Room' on the Ewha Womans University Press website (www.ewhapress.com).
We have provided exemplary and accurate listening files recorded by broadcasting station experts to help foreign students who are new to Korean practice listening and pronunciation.
This textbook will help beginner Korean language learners effectively improve their Korean language skills.
