Includes Konkuk Korean 1-1 Workbook

Since establishing a Korean language education program for foreigners in 1998, Konkuk University's Language Education Center has been a leader in systematic Korean language education and has consistently strived to promote the excellence of the Korean language internationally.
Based on the experience and materials accumulated while teaching learners of various nationalities, we have developed and utilized our own teaching materials for more effective Korean language learning.

Recent advances in AI and machine translation technology have brought about significant changes in foreign language education methods, but the fundamental need for direct communication remains crucial.
Therefore, we determined that it was essential to develop teaching materials that reflected Korea's rapidly changing cultural, social, and economic changes, along with effective second language learning techniques.
In response to this need, we began developing new textbooks in 2022 and published “Geon-guk Korean.”

『Geon-Guk Korean』 is an integrated textbook designed to help students develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills evenly.
It includes a variety of exercises and practical tasks centered on topics and situations frequently encountered in daily life, enabling learners to effectively improve their communication skills.

The listening section includes short and long conversations in various situations to help learners develop their listening skills. In the speaking section, the target grammar is utilized to provide practice related to the topic, and various tasks are presented to help learners speak on their own.
Additionally, the reading section provides practical texts and texts of various lengths that can be encountered in real life to enhance comprehension, and the writing section helps students organize outlines and write high-quality texts through topic-based writing assignments.

Learning a foreign language is not only about developing simple communication skills, but also an important process of understanding the other culture and emotions.
We hope that 『Geon-Guk Korean』 will be of practical help to Korean language learners and be useful in understanding Korean culture in general.
