Description
Book Introduction
This book collects seven classic Korean essays.
An essay is a piece of writing in which the writer freely expresses his or her thoughts, experiences, and feelings.
The author's characteristics are also well reflected in the classic essays collected here.
[Shinsanjongsugi] is a work that clearly expresses the author's grief over the loss of his wife.
His dream of living with his wife in a new house was not realized due to her death.
The author says he will achieve his dream even after death.
[Chukbyeongmun] contains a conversation between a sick person and his illness.
People only think that they are suffering because of illness.
However, the author says that the cause of illness is the person himself, and that illness actually helps the person.
[The Theory of Reckless Murder] is a book about judging good doctors.
A doctor who talks a lot and pretends to know everything is not a good doctor.
The author says that a good doctor is one who has cured many diseases.

[The theory of blindness] shows that excessive greed brings misfortune.
The author cites theft as an example.
And it is said that even a scholar must naturally give up greed.
[The Tale of a Lazy Farmer] is about a lazy farmer and a diligent farmer.
A diligent farmer, no matter how difficult it may be, has hope and works hard until the end.
The author says that scholars should learn the attitude of a diligent farmer.
[Giu-seol] is a story about riding an ox and enjoying the scenery.
The author says that if it's too fast, it's hard to see properly.
This is a piece that gives modern people who only like things fast a lot to think about.
[Il-ya-gu-do-gi is a piece written about what I felt after crossing a large river nine times in one night.
The author says that it is difficult to make correct judgments if you believe too much in what you see and hear.
