Publisher's Review
This textbook is published as part of the Cultural Textbook Series, following 『Korean Language in Culture 1』.
Unlike 『Korean in Culture 1』, which contains Korean cultural content necessary for the beginner level, 『Korean in Culture 2』 is a textbook that focuses on Korean language with cultural elements.
Understanding and learning the cultural background behind a language is crucial not only for understanding Korean values and emotional aspects, but also for improving your Korean communication skills.
This textbook covers a wide range of topics, including honorifics, idioms, interesting dialects and new words, poetry, sijo, and even the Chunhyangjeon story.
It is structured around fun and diverse learner-centered task-performing activities, and, like Volume 1, includes a teacher's guide in the appendix, providing practical assistance to teachers by providing materials needed for classes, extended class activities, and supplementary content for classes.

The features of this textbook are as follows:

First, it is a textbook created to teach and learn Korean language and culture. It is composed of 15 lessons on language and culture contents such as titles, honorifics, idioms, proverbs, onomatopoeia and mimetic words, origins of words, Chinese character idioms, new words and trendy words, dialects, weather terms, personality terms, editing terms, body language, poetry and sijo, and Chunhyangjeon.

Second, we included listening activities in the introduction section to help students grasp the topic of the unit, and considering that this is a language and culture textbook, we enabled students to practice natural conversation by listening to the text on a CD and doing it separately.

Third, to help you understand the content, we have included various examples and pictures, and we have made it possible to use the TIP and reference materials in the appendix for in-depth study.

Fourth, it allows for natural acquisition of language and culture through fun and diverse learner-centered task-based activities, and is suitable for use by intermediate and higher level learners who have completed general Korean culture studies.

Fifth, the teacher's guide in the appendix contains references for effective teaching (materials needed for the lesson, lesson extension activities, and supplementary content for the lesson).

The structure of this book is as follows:

In [Shall we listen first?], we have included listening activities to help you examine the main content of the unit.
[Shall we learn?] explains content related to language and culture and allows you to listen to the entire dialogue on CD.

[Let's Check] includes questions about the content of the text to help you check and reinforce your acquired knowledge.

In [Let's Try It], we've reviewed the core content by completing the dialogue and helped you develop your sentence structure skills.

[Shall We Try It?] allows you to perform a variety of task activities.
