Detailed structure of the learning unit

Introduction to the grand finale

To help students understand and become more interested in the unit, we present photos related to the topic along with the learning objectives for each unit.
In particular, QR codes were provided to help learners easily access the textbook and repeatedly hear the pronunciation and intonation of native Korean speakers.

Introduction of sub-units

We used real-world materials and illustrations related to the topic and function of each unit to activate learners' background knowledge.
In particular, we aimed to motivate learners through introductory questions related to the presented material.

vocabulary

We categorized vocabulary related to the topic into semantic fields and presented them in the form of pictures or illustrations to help learners understand, and provided meaningful practice so that learners could actually use the vocabulary and expressions they learned.


grammar

Grammar learning was designed to foster communication skills by selecting grammar that is more appropriate for the topic and function of each unit.
To aid understanding, we present related illustrations along with natural pairs of dialogue, and provide meaningful practice following simple response practice to ensure that the learned grammar is put to use.

conversation

We created four pairs of model conversations using the vocabulary and grammar learned in the previous section to demonstrate how conversations are conducted in real-life situations.
Meanwhile, the dialogue recordings are provided as QR codes so that students can practice repeatedly on their own.


Conversation practice

After sufficiently practicing the model dialogue, students were asked to create a new dialogue with their classmates based on the presented content and situation.

speaking

Each unit includes speaking activities that fit the topic and function, drawing out the learners' internal knowledge and allowing them to engage in various speaking activities with their classmates.


Listen and speak

In listening and speaking, we focused on more realistic discourses, such as conversations, interviews, documentaries, and lectures, to improve Korean listening skills.
The pre-listening stage consisted of introductory questions to activate the schema, and after listening, understanding of the content was checked, and speaking-related activities were conducted thereafter.
Listening recordings are provided via QR codes so that you can practice repeatedly on your own.


Reading and writing

Prose reading activities were conducted by presenting explanatory texts, editorials, articles, and literary works containing public material.
In the pre-reading stage, introductory questions were asked along with the material to activate the schema, and after reading the text, understanding of the content was confirmed and writing related activities were conducted.
In particular, writing was done in a workbook using a given topic and material.

The appendix contains a vocabulary list and grammar explanations organized by unit, along with listening passages, model answers, a vocabulary index, and a grammar index to assist learners in self-study and confirmation learning.
