Description
Book Introduction
The Ewha Korean Language Reference Book series is a new reference book for both learners and instructors, presented by the Ewha Womans University Language Education Center, a leader in Korean language education for foreigners.
While the existing 『Ewha Korean』 proved to be suitable as a textbook for classes based on lectures, the newly released 『Ewha Korean Reference Book』 is a reference book that comprehensively considers the needs of learners who want to understand the lecture content more deeply, learners who want to study on their own, and instructors who teach Korean using this textbook.
Unlike this textbook, which was published in English, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional) editions only for beginner levels 1 and 2, this reference book has the unique characteristic of being published in English, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional) editions for all levels 1 to 6, taking into account the convenience of learners in each language group.
The basic framework of each volume is in line with the main textbook, 『Ewha Korean』.
In the 'Let's Get Ready' section that appears in each lesson, the grammar presented in this textbook is explained in two parts: 'Grammar', which explains the grammar presented in this textbook in a slightly easier and clearer way, and 'Grammar Expansion', which advances to an advanced level based on that grammar.
Additionally, we carefully select the 'pronunciation' items that are easy to make mistakes with to help you speak Korean more clearly.
This textbook includes answers to practice problems, allowing you to study organically and efficiently with the textbook.
In 'Let's Listen', 'Let's Speak', and 'Let's Read and Write', the meaning and usage of vocabulary and expressions appearing in this textbook are explained in detail, and abundant examples are provided, allowing learners to understand Korean vocabulary and expressions more easily.
Additionally, it provides functional expressions related to the topic of each section and various examples using those expressions to help learners use them appropriately for the situation.
In particular, 'Let's Read and Write' provides basic explanations of the pronunciation rules presented in the reading section of the textbook and examples of pronunciation, helping students to speak or read with confidence in real-life situations.
In addition, the listening, speaking, and reading passages in the textbook have been translated into each language to help learners better understand the content. At the same time, the textbook also functions as a self-study guide by providing clear explanations and answers to the practice problems in the textbook.
In addition, we have added fun to studying by selecting topics that students outside the classroom might be curious about and grouping them into a 'Q&A' corner, and we have also provided a 'Word Check' corner that is presented according to the related topic for each unit, so that students can effectively conclude their studies for each lesson.
At the very back, an index covering all vocabulary from the textbook and reference books has been included to enhance the completeness of the book, allowing it to function as a vocabulary list.
The Ewha Korean Reference Book series, which is organically linked to the textbook while also serving as an excellent self-study guide in its own right, will be an excellent guide for learners who continue to study Korean both inside and outside the classroom.
It will also serve as an appropriate guide for teachers teaching Korean through Ewha Korean to assess and determine the level of class content.
