The National Institute of the Korean Language has been developing Korean language education materials for overseas Korean children (ages 3-6).
In 2017, we conducted basic research and a needs survey, and in 2018, we conducted field applications and opinion gathering.
Korean language education experts, early childhood education experts, and overseas Korean education experts participated in the development of educational materials, and in February 2019, six activity books for children, two teacher's guides, one Korean language game book, and one large picture book were published.

In addition, we developed educational materials that reflect the characteristics of Russian-speaking countries, where there is a high demand for Korean language education materials for overseas Korean children.
To increase the practical usability of the textbook, we actively incorporated feedback from the field and worked hard to reflect the linguistic and cultural characteristics of Russian-speaking countries.
In addition, by developing a Russian-language textbook, we have provided local teachers with a guide to using the textbook, enabling more effective teaching and learning.
The question, 'Who am I?' is one that we inevitably face as we live in the world as human beings.
This question of identity will be even more vivid for Koreans living abroad, who are caught up in two languages ​​and cultures.
We hope that "Exciting Korean for Children Around the World (Russian-speaking Countries)", a customized textbook specialized for the Russian-speaking world, will help foster the identity of overseas Korean children.
