Teacher Jo's English-style thinking class: Learn from the perspective of a native speaker
Description
Book Introduction
The moment you stop translating, the English starts running.

We've all had that experience: knowing the words but being stiff, reading sentences but feeling like the conversation just flew by. The reason isn't your lack of skill, but rather your way of thinking.
Because we are used to the old way of thinking in Korean first and then adding English.
This book suggests exercises to change those old paths.

The author demonstrates through his own experience and class notes that even as an adult, it is possible to develop 'English-style thinking' in Korea.
This book guides you into a new world of English through two stages of systematic training.
In the first stage, you will practice switching your mind's language to English, and in the second stage, you will practice expressing your changed thoughts without hesitation.
By repeating the training, starting with short sentences and moving on to conversations, situations, and self-expression, you will acquire the ability to listen and speak without translation.

As you practice, your speaking speed will naturally increase and you will be able to understand even the subtle nuances clearly.
You no longer need to memorize the 'correct' sentence.
You will develop new brain circuits that allow sentences to come naturally in any situation.
The effect is doubled when combined with YouTube lectures.
The moment English becomes fun again, the starting button is right here in this book.

Into the book
A friend who comes out of the gym panting.
You said the gym wasn't that great, but your expression is quite bright. What do you say when that happens?
I guess I've finally gotten used to the gym.
How do you say this in English?

Teacher Joe's Tip
When I first went to the gym, I thought it was just a group of people lifting weights.
But isn't it strange? Before I knew it, that lump of metal was calling me.
be starting to like This is the perfect expression for this feeling.
Start, like? You all know what it means, right?
But when I actually try to say "be starting to like," my mouth doesn't follow along very well.
Why is that? Just because you know the meaning of a word doesn't mean you can naturally continue speaking it.
The key nuance of this expression is this.
Let me give you an example: 'It wasn't that great at first, but as I kept doing it, I started to like it.'
When I first started learning the violin, my fingers hurt and the sound was like a cat's scream.
But as I continued practicing, I somehow found it fun.
So, without realizing it, I end up saying this.
I'm starting to like learning the violin. (I'm starting to find learning the violin fun.) This isn't just 'I like it.'
The moment when dislike turns into liking, that feeling of emotional temperature changing.
The expression used in the midst of that change is “be starting to like.”

Think in English:
When we say we “are starting to like” something, it means we are beginning to enjoy it.
Usually, this happens when we didn't like it at first, but our feelings change over time.
We might not love it completely yet, but we like it more than before.
When we say we are starting to like something, it means we are beginning to enjoy it.
Usually this happens when we don't like something at first, but our feelings change over time.
I may not like it completely yet, but I like it more than I used to.

Short situation
Today, I watched a few episodes of a show called Suits, which is about a fake lawyer.
I wasn't sure about this show, but I'm starting to like it.
I've already finished two seasons and will start the next season tomorrow.
Today I watched the drama 'Suits' which is about a fake lawyer.
At first I thought it was just okay, but as I watched it, it started to get more and more interesting.
I've already watched all of season 2, and I'm planning on watching the next season tomorrow.

Publisher's Review
Even though I've been learning English for a long time, my English always goes through 'transit points'.
The idea is to start only after taking a picture of Korean.
This book boldly eliminates those cumbersome transit points and suggests practicing a "direct line" from thought to speech.
Rather than simply providing study tips, we aim to bring about a fundamental change in the very process by which language is created.

The greatest strength of this book is its systematic learning design of 'diagnosis-understanding-application-verification.'
First, let's do a short writing warm-up to get yourself aware of your current thinking habits.
Next, you will learn to recall meaning immediately without translation by seeing the author's coaching and the perspective of a native speaker side by side.
Finally, we repeat a short routine that leads to sentences, dialogues, situations, and finally, to creating our own sentences.
Through this process, you will experience the freedom of moving from having only one option in your mind to having multiple expressions come to mind at the same time.
Instead of pulling out memorized answers, it's a method of first understanding the situation and then naturally speaking the appropriate words.

These changes can be felt immediately in our daily lives.
Your reading and listening processing speed will noticeably increase, and you will gain the power to choose your expressions without hesitation in speaking and writing.
You will be able to grasp the 'nuances' such as the subtle temperature differences between seemingly similar expressions, the pressure of context, and the speaker's intention.
Designed for busy adults, it's comprised of short, repeatable sets so you can build your skills consistently, regardless of your schedule.
If necessary, you can also follow the author's online lectures to develop a solid rhythm.

I would like to say that this book is one that changes the 'direction' rather than simply increasing the 'amount of effort'.
In Korea, even here, it's possible to kill two birds with one stone: speed and nuance, while reducing learning fatigue in a way that's entirely possible.
By the time you finish this book, you'll find yourself freely using context-sensitive language instead of memorized phrases.
This book will take responsibility for the enjoyable acceleration of English without any stopovers.
