Kim Dae-ri's Taste Knit
Description
Book Introduction
“It’s a good season for knitting,
Let’s start with a top-down that is easy to knit and fits well!”
A YouTuber with 70 million cumulative views and 400,000 knitting videos.
Kim Dae-ri's works that everyone can enjoy
Even an essay that gives a glimpse into my thoughts on knitting!
Every new piece becomes a hot topic, every new release a bestseller! A new book has been published by Kim Dae-ri, a knitting artist beloved by knitters.
This book is more stylish and trendy.
A year after 『Kim Dae-ri's Daily Knitting』, it has been further upgraded and filled with 10 attractive knits and accessories.
We've selected designs that are still easy to knit, versatile, and have unique details to ensure a delicate fit.
This book, written using top-down techniques, is suitable for beginners as well.
A simple top-down knit with a natural sleeve pattern and exquisite fit like a bottom-up, an Aran patterned sweater and cardigan that are fun to knit and pretty to wear, a Cowichan cardigan with added stitching for those who have trouble with color coordination, and even a collar style that is comfortable to wear with attention to detail.
We also provide QR links to updated information on techniques and designs, along with tutorial videos to help you complete each piece.
All ten works included in this book are unpublished designs that have never been published anywhere else.
It contains only the works that could be glimpsed briefly in Manager Kim's daily life and the works that took a long time to complete.
In addition, the four-cut photos of scenes that inspired Manager Kim while creating the work provide a unique kind of fun.
In the essay, filled with stories she wants to share with knitters, you can meet Kim Dae-ri, who is lively yet always sincere about her work, including anecdotes about how she first started knitting, the unique charm of knitting, and her criteria for choosing her favorite yarn.

Publisher's Review
Full of the tastes of Korea's number one knitting YouTuber, Daeri Kim!
10 Knitwear Ideas for Kim Dae-ri Style: Simple yet Detailed
Manager Kim has now become a proper noun.
To the general public, Kim Dae-ri may be just another employee at any company, but to knitters, Kim Dae-ri is the trendiest and most stylish knitter in Korea.
When Manager Kim is trending, comments like, "What are you trending? I want to follow suit!" are posted, and questions like, "What kind of knitwear are you wearing right now?" are barraged on photos of Manager Kim's daily life.
People who have tried out Kim Dae-ri's patterns once will choose Kim Dae-ri's patterns for their next work as well and will never fail to boast, "I learned how to knit from Kim Dae-ri."
The reason why people who have tried Kim Dae-ri's work love and are proud of it is probably because of its 'wearable design' that can be worn every day.
The greatest strength of Kim Dae-ri's work is that it is a design that can be worn regardless of whether it is a heavy or light occasion, whether meeting friends, going to work, or going to school.
These 10 knitting patterns, carefully crafted from a knitter's perspective with clear purpose and need, will help you knit what you truly want.
This book is also full of Manager Kim's simple and pretty designs.
The work is full of traces of painstaking effort, as it was created without deliberately over-decorating and only included the details that were truly necessary.
'Flatberry Shawl Collar Cardigan' that allows you to knit a thick shawl collar cardigan like a ready-to-wear suit, 'Square Neck Flare Tee' for those who don't want to give up knitting even in the summer, 'Cowichan Collar Sweater' that can be completed from the collar up without sewing, 'Vancouver Sweater' that has a top-down design but sleeves that look like bottoms up, 'Yeonhee Vest' that goes well with any clothes, 'Bingbong Sweater' that can be completed with an infinite knit, 'Flatberry Sweater' with an Aran pattern that can be knitted top-down, 'Alpaca Boucle Beanie' that can be completed in 2 hours, 'Chunky Top-Down Gloves' that can be completed in 1 hour, 'Alpaca Boucle Cowichan Cardigan' that can be completed with additional stitches for those who have difficulty with color coordination.
A natural sleeve and exquisite fit like a bottom-up!
A collection of carefully selected, unpublished designs of varying difficulty levels.
If I had to pick one theme for this book, I would say it's 'Top-down designs that are easier to knit.'
Bottom-up, which involves sewing the front and back of the body and the sleeves separately, allows for detailed adjustments to each piece, allowing for a perfect fit. However, it has the disadvantage of being cumbersome and bothersome.
Because of this hassle, beginners and intermediate players often find bottom-up difficult and give up.
Manager Kim took that into account and created all the designs from the top down, while still maintaining a natural sleeve width and exquisite fit that are not inferior to bottom-up designs.
Because the shape can vary greatly depending on how the backstitching is arranged and how the nose is shortened and lengthened, I poured my heart and soul into creating the design and completed it through repeated revisions.
Additionally, all of the designs included in this book are unpublished designs that have not been published anywhere else.
This is a composition made possible by Kim Dae-ri, one of the most active designers in Korea, and the fact that you can see all 10 designs in one volume is a great advantage.
ㅤ
“That’s why knitting is good.”
Includes an essay by Kim Dae-ri, who talks about the joys of living as a "knitter."
When Manager Kim appears, the comment section is flooded with questions.
There are many things about knitting, but there are also many questions to ask about Manager Kim.
Kim Dae-ri's knitting fans are curious about where she gets her inspiration, what she's interested in these days, and what she thinks about knitting.
This book is filled with intimate personal details about Manager Kim to address such questions.
First, the first page of every design contains a photograph taken by Kim Dae-ri of an object or landscape that inspired him.
The photos contain elements that directly or indirectly influenced the conception of the work, such as thread, swatches, the sky seen one day, and scenery passing by in everyday life.
You can also find essays written by Manager Kim himself.
We share small but honest stories with 'knitters', such as how they first started knitting and what kind of joy they find in knitting now.
ㅤ
Knitting tips and techniques, from basic to advanced!
Create your own outfit with easy-to-follow instructions and QR code videos.
A unique feature of Kim Dae-ri's book is the QR code attached to each design, allowing you to access all the information about the design. Scanning the QR code reveals an enlarged version of the design, a video demonstrating the techniques used in each section, and even a description of the design—all in one place.
QR codes can be used to help you knit more easily when you can't remember a specific technique or are confused about how to knit.
This book also includes various knitting tips, such as how to wash knits, the methods and advantages of continental knitting, magic loops and DPN, how to gauge, and how to read patterns, so it will be of great help to both beginners and those with some knitting experience.
Create your own outfit this winter with this book, packed with beautiful patterns, easy-to-follow instructions, tips, and know-how!
