Description
Book Introduction
Awareness of the body
A book that opens up new possibilities!

The 'Cellular Imagery Training Method' that will change your life is revealed!

"Cell Revolution" is the first book to shed new light on health by focusing on cells, the smallest unit of our bodies and the foundation of all life activities.
Based on the premise that “our body is a collection of cells,” we seek fundamental changes in our body and mind through “cell imagery training,” which involves recognizing the existence of cells that we do not properly recognize in our daily lives, visualizing the basic operating methods and movements of those cells, and applying them to our daily lives.

In this book, world-renowned exercise scientist and movement educator Eric Franklin reveals how cellular imagery training, based on his movement improvement training method, the Franklin Method, can help us feel younger, healthier, and more vibrant.
It also presents various ideas on what kind of images and methods to conjure up to keep cells and the body in optimal condition.
The training introduced in this book to awaken the cells in our bodies will positively transform our perception of our bodies and bring about changes in our daily, repetitive movements.
By following the book's instructions to image cells and apply them to actual movements, you will experience new possibilities for 'body awareness.'

Into the book
There are already many excellent books on anatomy and cellular physiology.
However, this book is the first to focus on using imagery to promote cellular health, emphasizing hands-on experience through practical exercises and training.
(Omitted) In this book, we will focus on cells, the basic components of our existence, for the first time.
The goal of this book is to use the dynamic neurocognitive imagery of the Franklin Method to create a happy mind and a healthy body.
By focusing on cells, the smallest unit of our body, and training efficient movements, we hope to positively change our perception of our bodies and bring about changes in our daily routines.
--- From pp.10~11, “Prologue”

One of the great discoveries of the 21st century is that our brains change and adapt to new behaviors and experiences.
This is called neuroplasticity.
The Franklin Method is at the forefront of neuroplasticity, teaching you how to use your brain to improve your body's functions.
Starting from the knowledge that we have the power to create change within ourselves, it teaches us how to move our bodies as efficiently as possible and maintain a youthful and vibrant body.
The Franklin Method focuses on improving your ability to do whatever you do.

Research shows that the most effective way to change your body is to change your thoughts.
These mental interventions also have a positive effect on the immune system and organs.
The tools of the mind are readily available, cost free, and have few side effects.

From “The Power of Imagery”

Our body is made up of about 30 trillion cells, and everything that happens inside the body is carried out by cells.
In short, we are a collection of cells.
The vast number of cells is incomparably small compared to the objects we encounter in our daily lives, but their functions are greater than anything else in the world.
Cells produce everything we need to live, including energy, proteins, and hormones, from oxygen and the food we absorb into our bodies.
Moreover, cells are active and intelligent, and they communicate closely with each other in networks.
Furthermore, it functions as a recycling center and helps to heal injured bodies.
Any form of pain or tension we feel depends on the condition of our cells.
Our goal, by connecting with and communicating with cells, is to slow down the clock on aging, find health, confidence, and achieve well-being.
Our human existence begins with cells.
--- p.36 「Chapter 1.
From "The Secret of Somatic Cells"

Imagine the different layers of tissue that make up your face.
First, the top layer, called the epidermis, is made up of tightly arranged cells that form a waterproof barrier.
Below that is the dermis, which contains fairly tough connective tissue, sweat glands, and hair follicles.
The deepest layer, the subcutaneous layer, is made up of superficial fascia, a loose connective tissue, and a thin layer of fat.
The superficial fascia adapts adeptly to the various movements of the face.
Finally, we reach the muscle, which is surrounded by another type of connective tissue called the epimysium.

Feel all these layers gently leaning against each other and resting comfortably.
Feel the muscles supporting the tissues above, and the dermis supporting the epidermis.
As you breathe in, imagine your breath moving through all the layers.
As you exhale, imagine that your breath is cleansing and purifying all layers.
Inhale again and visualize your breath energizing every layer of your skin.
As you exhale, imagine each layer becoming softer and more relaxed.
Keep this image in your mind and repeat the breathing a few more times.
--- pp.182~182 「Chapter 4.
From "Training for the Face"

Because fear is linked to powerful imagery, the more we think about what we fear, the more we draw it into us.
If you are afraid of gaining body fat, you may end up spending more mental energy on it, which may result in increased body fat.
Diet ads often feature the slogan, "Lose your fat! Never gain weight again!" Unfortunately, these slogans often have the opposite effect on the mental level.
Because it only brings to mind excess fat instead of the ideal body type you want.
Rather, 'all of my tissues, including my local tissues, are precious.
They are diligently performing their assigned roles.
It is more effective to think of it as 'you need a certain amount of fat to be healthy'.
Let me emphasize again, in the end, it's all a question of balance.

(Omitted) In the end, we get what we see.
If you can't vividly picture what you want, your efforts will be in vain.
Visualize what you want vividly in your mind.
That is mental training, through which we can train our minds to put into action what we visualize.
--- pp.235~237 「Chapter 7.
From “Training for Youth”

Interestingly, many people find it difficult to express positive feelings about their bodies.
For example, when I ask people to share their thoughts about their feet, I often get back comments like, “They smell” or “They’re too far to reach.”

It's time for me to commit to being more, more specific about my gratitude for my body as I embark on this journey.
If we practice this just a little bit more than we have been doing in our lives, it can really work miracles.
The cells will thank me.

Publisher's Review
“To change my body, wake up my cells first.”

To create young and healthy cells
The first book to show you how to use imagery!

As life expectancy increases due to advancements in science and medical technology, interest in "healthy life expectancy," which goes beyond simply living a long life and involves maintaining a healthy life without disease or other physical problems, has increased.
It is not simply about living without disease or physical pain, but about finding solutions to a joyful and vibrant life based on a fundamental understanding of the body.

In this regard, many books have been published on exercise and diet, but there has been no book that focuses on the foundation of health by focusing on 'cells,' the smallest unit of our body and the source of our vitality.
Cell Revolution is the first book to show how to use imagery to make cells, the basic units of the human body, young and healthy.
By boldly bringing the imagery techniques used in the health field down to the cellular level, it provides specific information on how to improve physical and mental health through cellular imagery training.

Eric Franklin, a world-renowned exercise scientist who has been active as a 'movement educator' throughout the United States and Europe for over 30 years, suggests in 'Cellular Revolution' that we focus on training cells, the basic units that make up our bodies, for efficient movement and a healthy body.
He applied the 'Franklin Method', a movement improvement program he developed, to cells to positively change their perception of their body and bring about changes in their daily movements.
Imagery training based on the image of cells is a powerful inner communication with our bodies, opening up new possibilities for 'body awareness.'

Proven by athletes, dancers, and fitness professionals
Innovative thinking about health and well-being

"Cell Revolution" contains methods to transform cells into optimal condition and improve actual function through neuroplasticity of the brain nervous system.
It starts from the fact that thoughts and emotions not only affect our bodies, but also change the functioning of our organs and the actual operation of our hormonal systems.
This book is divided into two parts. Part 1 presents mental training methods based on the structure and function of organelles within cells, and Part 2 presents mental training methods for each part of the body to move efficiently and maintain vitality.

Cell imagery training that awakens the cells in our body is ‘inner communication with my body.’
For example, you can think of your cells as a "comfortable home" and invite good guests, imagining their positive energy filling the home. Or you can imagine your body as a "big balloon filled with water" and visualize the water inside the balloon moving gently, creating movement on the surface of the balloon.
The photos and drawings inserted throughout the book help visualize the images.
Through comfortable and fluid imagery training, you can experience the relaxing effect of your stiff or tense body just by imagining and recalling it specifically.
The training methods he proposed are already being used worldwide in sports and dance, and are recognized by experts in yoga, Pilates, and fitness.

With awareness at the cellular level
From a positive perception of my body to changes in my daily life

Many modern people live without a healthy and positive relationship with their bodies.
Most of the time, when we think of a specific part of the body, it's when we feel pain, and our interest in the body is biased towards negative images such as being overweight or underweight, aging skin, muscle loss, wrinkles, and hair loss.
As a result, problems often arise because the body's signals are not properly read.

"Cell Revolution" teaches you how to bring your body to its optimal condition and develop a positive perception of your body through cellular imagery training that awakens the cells within your body.
Starting with imagining each cell individually, it helps expand your awareness of the body and fundamentally shift your perspective by imagining how the body works and changes, from the face to the skin to youth.
The author asserts in the book that “if you consistently practice mental training, you will see improvements in your posture and movement, as well as increased flexibility and muscle strength.”

Many people who have already read this book say that their lives have changed with enthusiastic responses such as, “I have come to have a positive perception of my body,” “My daily posture and movements have improved,” “My perspective on life has changed, and my body has become lighter,” “After reading and following the explanations, my sense of movement has become clearer,” and “My anxiety has disappeared and my daily life has become more energetic.”
This book is a journey to positively view my body and perceive it correctly.
Now it's your turn.
If we can show more, more specific gratitude to our bodies throughout this journey, they will truly do so!
