The front line of the poetic body that has never stopped breaking through (Lee Gwang-ho) Poet Kim Hye-sun's new poetry collection, 'Synchronized Sea Anemone', is published as the first volume of Nanda's poetry collection series, Nanda Poetry.
This new work, released after three years, is his fifteenth poetry collection since winning the German International Prize for Literature. It consists of 65 unpublished poems divided into eight parts, and includes a letter from poet Kim Hye-sun and one of his representative poems translated into English.
Poet Kim Hye-sun, who was writing poetry filled with pain, at one point thought that she should write a different poem, as if pouring cold water on herself.
He said he needed water to wash himself.
In the dark, dark, dark darkness, these poems were the strings that kept him upright, or the wires taut with sadness.
The rhythm and melody, the pain and suffering that come to him are truly new.
The poet became a cheerful ghost without legs, and wrote down the rhythm that came to him with a comfortable mind, and wrote down words that fell like a small waterfall.
The poet says that if he had not encountered these poems, he would have become a rough man with death on his face.
Writing these poems, I learned that pain, sadness, and tragedy can all be contained in a joyful vessel.
This collection of poems is the other poems that were placed in the vessel of laughter (「Kim Hye-sun's Letter」).
The poet sees a creature he has never seen before swaying on a large fishbowl-like screen in the lobby of a building.
It's like touching long tentacles that show off all sorts of colors in the deep sea, dancing in sync with each other in solitude.
That night the poet lay leaning gently against the presence of the deep sea.
The nameplate of that being read Sea Anemone, and then this collection of poems was born (the poet's words).

The sword of 'nothingness, death' that constantly, in an instant, splits the center of the lumped world, the life that exists omnipresent within that bassoon.
The laughter in the poem seeks to pierce a hole in the square and hard reality.
Death in life, life in death, the slippage of 'life/death' that is absent but becomes present.

The mandala, as a circular structure that simultaneously embraces the outside and the inside, the center and the periphery, and the recognition that a single particle or drop of water is no different from the entire universe, allows the poetic subject to move beyond 'me' to the living movement of rhythm, breathing, and pulse.
It shows poetry that stubbornly tries to exist within its own rhythm and pattern against the gaze that tries to interpret it.
It connects us by penetrating the incomprehensible world.
Synchronized sea anemones are sensory bodies that sway and undulate in themselves and resonate with other beings, inviting us into the deep sea, a realm where light cannot reach, a deathly space close to the boundary between life and death.
The bottomless sea, however, becomes a place of creation where unique ecosystems, luminescence, and new forms of life are omnipresent, and it slides into a space where we live that which is 'not dead/not life'.
The individual and communal sea anemone, without fixed boundaries or centers, is a being whose individual tentacles come together to react in rhythm, waves, and simultaneity.
The collective swimming, alive yet seemingly dead, dead yet seemingly alive, embodies the concept of 'the middle of nothingness' in a new dimension.
These are mandala-like beings that simultaneously embrace the boundaries of inside and outside, death and life, individual and collective, light and darkness, and they become passages that open a hole in a world that cannot be thought of solely in human language, allowing us to experience the state of 'no'.

If you ask me how the lineup of Nanda Poetry will continue, I am cautious in my words because it is a diverse poetic trend that cannot be condensed into a single word.
However, since everything can become the subject of poetry and all words can be expressed in the language of poetry, I dare say with a certain determination that the original intention of giving the poet the freedom to freely hand over the diversity, infinity, and maximization of his spirit and senses was, from the very beginning, as green as the grass in an unfenced meadow.
