An elite elderly couple hunting young victims,
A relentless pursuit of the bottomless truth of evil.
The extreme horror that only Stephen King can deliver will pierce your heart!

Stephen King, the master who has delighted readers by releasing new works almost every year for half a century, has ambitiously returned with his new work, Holly.
Holly Gibney, who appeared in a supporting role in the Bill Hodges trilogy and went on to become a detective in the novel "The Outsider" and the novella "Where the Blood Flows," is involved in a series of disappearances.
Having previously encountered supernatural beings through bizarre incidents, Holly's opponents this time are ordinary people, a professor couple in their 80s who seem so helpless that no one can help them.
How can we catch a murderous couple who kidnap and murder young people to extend their own lifespans? This gripping, suspenseful chase unfolds, revealing a diverse cast of characters entering old age, prompting readers to reflect on how to confront the real-world fear of "time."
Holly Gibney's personal history and growth as a detective are also must-sees.
The author, who won the Goodreads Readers' Choice Horror Novel of the Year award for this work, is currently working on another Holly story, 『Always Holly』.

Publisher's Review
“The moment you think you have seen the worst that a human being can do,
It turns out to be a mistake.
“There is no end to evil.”

In 2021, the coronavirus pandemic spread across the globe, paralyzing various systems.
The Finders Keepers Detective Agency was also unable to escape the aftermath.
Holly Gibney, who took over the office after the death of former police officer Bill Hodges, was closed due to her partner Pete Huntley being hospitalized with COVID-19 and the sudden death of her mother.
She has just finished her mother's funeral when she receives a phone call from a middle-aged woman named Penelope.
It was a request to find his daughter Bonnie, who had disappeared after leaving a note that said, "I can't stand it anymore," and had not been heard from for almost a month.
Holly, who needed something to distract her from her loss and because Penelope's voice reminded her of her mother, with whom she had a love-hate relationship, accepted the job. While investigating Bonnie's whereabouts, she discovered similar disappearances from the past.

In fact, the identity of the culprit is clearly revealed from the beginning of the novel.
The Harrises, professors emeritus at a nearby university specializing in biology and English literature, respectively, take turns driving a wheelchair-equipped van to attract carefully selected targets.
What on earth is going on in the basement of the quiet mansion where the Harrises live?

The character that captivated the king of stories

A new turning point for detective Holly Gibney

“I love Holly.
It's like that after cutting it short.
She was originally slated to play a minor role in Mr. Mercedes.
But he stole my heart (and almost all of my books).
“I always wonder what she does and how she is doing.” (From the author’s note in “Where the Blood Flows”)

Stephen King, who has created countless iconic characters that will forever be remembered in genre fiction history, including Carrie, Pennywise, Annie Wilkes, and Jack Torrance, is currently most obsessed with Holly Givey.
This middle-aged, depressed, and obsessive-compulsive woman started out as a sidekick to Bill Hodges, the detective who won Stephen King an Edgar Award for best mystery novel, and eventually became a detective in her own right.
In this terribly brutal and dark tale, Holly shines as brightly as any Stephen King character.
If the loss of Bill Hodges, who was like a mentor to her, was the catalyst for her to become a detective, this time it is her mother's death and 'betrayal' that allows her to grow.
With such an excellent writing style that it's hard to believe it was written by an older male author, the relationship between a mother who tried to control her child and a daughter who wanted to stand on her own two feet is delicately portrayed.
Readers who have witnessed the character's growth through "Holly" will, like the author, be captivated by the question, "What is Holly doing now?" and anticipate the next work.
