From that point on, the man unfolds a beautiful and fateful love story for one woman, spanning his childhood, middle and high school years, his college years marked by demonstrations and meetings, his military (police) days, and even into his adult life.

Se-gil's love journey, which began after he met Min-hyeon, who was born to a father who was a catcher on a whaling ship and a mother who was an errand boy for a Japanese family during the Japanese colonial period and was exposed to domestic violence from his father since childhood, is full of the inherent violence of life and the turbulent waves of 50 years of modern Korean history.
