Into the book
Dalgomi tried shaking and turning the crescent moon over, but no sound was heard and no stone came out.
So I blew air into the hole with my mouth and made a 'whoosh' sound, and I was startled.
It sounds really cool.
It was clearer than the sound of a flute, and deeper than when a stone was thrown into a pond.
Gomgomi clapped his hands and said.
“Dalgom-ah, I think you’d be better off making noise with the crescent moon than singing.
I'm talking about performance.
“It would be cooler to play.”
"Playing? Me playing? You mean I can be a bear that plays an instrument?"
When Dalgomi put his mouth back on the half-moon and blew air, a truly amazing sound came out.

Dalgomi was so excited that she told her friends.
“Now that we have our spirits up, let’s run like this.
But you know what?
Even if you don't feel good, if you jump 'thump-thump-thump-' you will feel good on your own.
"Are you all feeling well? Come on, jump to the sound of my flute."
All the friends in the forest run around happily, their front paws lightly tapping.
I returned home, jumping lightly, as if the raindrops falling from high in the sky were hitting each bamboo joint and making a 'thump-thump-thump-' sound.

Dalgom, who thought it would be nice if DolDol became a little more comfortable, said in a clear voice.
“Really? Just throw away the triangular house.
Then your worries will disappear too.
“I’ll throw away the big room and the big bed and sleep comfortably in a small bed in a round house.”
After saying that, Dalgomi muttered to himself.

"okay.
The little things in the world are beautiful.
“It’s the little things that are beautiful, like the early morning dew, like the fireflies late at night, like the raindrops in spring, like the pebbles sparkling on the shore of a summer lake, like the wild chrysanthemums on the autumn mountain ridge, like the snowflakes blowing in the winter wind.”
---p.44

As I picked and ate the sweet and sour strawberries one by one, I suddenly wanted to eat more and faster.
So after eating so many that I couldn't even count them, my friends' faces changed into sweet and sour delicious expressions.
If you want to feel so full you can't stand it, try eating like a teddy bear.
Dalgomi eats countless amounts of wild strawberries.
As I went down the hill, I ate it munching, munching, munching.
I ate as much skewers as Dalgom, so my stomach got bloated.

Dalgomi was completely absorbed in the jewel-like sparkling strawberry berries at the foot of the misty oak forest.
The strawberry forest stretched out endlessly.
After eating my fill, I looked up at the sky and saw a red sky that looked like countless wild strawberries were pouring down.
It was just evening play.
Yes, the sunset is a delicious red like a strawberry!
---pp.81-83

Gomgomi now started crying out loud.
I cried, shaking off the hand that was trying to comfort me.
At that moment, Santo also started to tremble and cry, and Dol Dol and Kochi, who were trying to comfort him, also started to cry, shaking their shoulders.
Mr. Dooji said.
“It’s dangerous to walk at night, so why don’t we just sit here and spend the night?”
Gomgomi shouted.
“In this scary place? No~!”
The mountain seemed to be falling apart at the sound of my friends crying.
Dalgomi placed both hands on his waist and looked into the darkness.
In fact, Dalgom was scared too, but he thought that if anyone had to protect his friends, he had to be the only one, so he took courage.

---pp.87-88

Dalgomi was sad that he couldn't find a way to play with Bbungi.
It's really fun to meet different friends.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a friend who can see far into the dark night sky? And wouldn't it be even better to have a friend who appears in the clear morning sunlight playing a beautiful flute? And wouldn't it be even better to have a friend with big ears, a friend who's left-handed, and a friend who knows the names of all the flowers? Everyone in the world can be a friend.
We look different, have different heights, personalities, and different thoughts, so it's uncomfortable at first, but once we become friends, we can help each other a lot because we're different.
Yeah, the more friends the better.

Publisher's Review
A beautiful coming-of-age story, like poetry, from author Mikio Igarashi and author Eun Lee of "Bonobono."
The beloved illustrator Mikio Igarashi and poet Eun Lee have come together to create a children's book as beautiful as poetry and as fun as animation.
Mikio Igarashi writes in the preface, “The things that keep us alive are the sun, the air, the trees, the forest, and the small creatures, but we only realize their value after losing them.” He adds, “The friends of the Golden Forest have come to help us realize what keeps us alive.”
As the artist said, you can learn wisdom that is gently conveyed through the animals that live in harmony with nature in the Golden Forest and face new events every day.

Also, the sensibility of author Lee Eun, who has mainly written beautiful poetry, is fully absorbed into the story, telling stories that you want to read over and over again, and sentences that you want to keep for a long time.

Life lessons from the half-moon bear Dalgomi and his animal friends
Long ago, across the deep blue autumn night sky, a golden shooting star crashed down on a hill with a tremendous 'thud!'
On a spring day when the blue waves were rolling over the mountains, a golden bud sprouted in that very spot, and as time passed, it grew into a tall, lush golden tree.
In this golden forest, there live Dalgomi, a half-moon bear who thinks everything is good, his girlfriend Gomgomi, a pink pig named Kochi, Uncle Duji, the only adult in the golden forest, Santo, Doldol, Bungi, Boogie, and Dr. Meong, who always say and do things twice.

The events that the friends of the Golden Forest experience are giving us important messages one by one.
Listening to the animals' stories, I think about things to think about again: the value of focusing on what you're good at rather than what you like; the more you own, the more worries you have; instead of growing older, you lose something; and if you greet a friend cheerfully, like singing, you can play together again.

The beautiful descriptions of nature by author Lee Eun, the unique personalities and episodes of animals, and sentences that make you want to read them over and over again, combined with the cute characters and wonderful illustrations by author Bonobono, make this a children's book that both children and adults can enjoy.
