A growth story through English study

Author Jeon Eun-ji is a children's book writer who loves interesting stories, but she is also an author who writes English textbooks and creates English problems.
I majored in English Literature and have experience working as an instructor at an English academy.
The author wrote this book out of pity for children who hate English but are forced to attend private academies.
The protagonist tries various methods to find his own way of studying English, but the process is not smooth.
Even though I was ignored by my friends and thought about running away before the English speaking contest because I was insecure, I ended up saying that I like English because of the secret method of author Jeon Eun-ji, which is embedded throughout the book.
As you read through Young-eun's story, which follows the basics—memorizing words, pronouncing them accurately, memorizing sentences—while working on her own, you'll find yourself inspired to try it yourself. This, in keeping with the author's original intention, will help ease some of the burden and resistance to English.
Additionally, the author revealed recommended English study methods, such as using a translator and mixing English into your daily speech.

Publisher's Review
As important as English
Korean language and support from adults

Yeong-eun is proud of herself for speaking Korean logically and coherently, without being at all intimidated in conversation.
However, when studying English, we encounter problems arising from not knowing our own language.
If you only emphasize studying English, it is easy to overlook the importance of the Korean language. However, even if you memorize a lot of English words, if you do not understand their meaning in Korean, you will be in an awkward situation like Yeong-eun, who does not know English or Korean.
Young-eun, who is anxious as she thinks, 'There could be a terrible situation where Korean is added to the list of subjects that she is worse at than the puppy Dolsuni,' uses Korean words she is hearing for the first time in her daily life.
By applying this method to studying English, he prepares for an English speaking contest despite being criticized by his friends.

Yeong-eun grumbles that it is difficult because she has no one to help her, but she has a great helper, her homeroom teacher.
“I’m so happy that Young-eun is studying English.
It's fortunate that Young-eun has a wise homeroom teacher who supports her by saying, "Is that a big deal?"
The reason Youngeun decided to study English was because of her competitive spirit to beat her friends, but that alone would not have been enough to sustain her determination.
The warm teacher who always welcomed me when I visited and the friendship that ultimately led to mutual comfort played a big role.
This book shows that what you really need to learn English is not textbooks or famous academies.
It was Yeong-eun's will to never give up that allowed her to steadily move forward little by little, and she had a homeroom teacher who guided her.
Rather than nagging them to study English or criticizing them for what they did at the academy, supportive words like, "Is English that a big deal? Mom and Dad aren't very good at it either, but we'll help you." can be a real booster for children's English studies.
