Into the book
If we don't try to change, we can stick to the proven, stable path. But if we insist on change, how will the world change? Those who dream of breaking away from convention and pursuing something idealistic and new often lack the power to change the established, entrenched systems.
But if someone with the power or influence to choose were to break the taboo and try to make a change, even if it meant taking a small loss, wouldn't the world change, even if only a little?
--- p.25, from “At some point, you need to take a moment to tidy up”

As I began to face the world head-on and communicate with the world I had previously turned away from, another joy of life came to me.
Every moment I lived with all my might, without any sense of moderation, made me a better person.
Even moments that may be burdensome and sometimes painful to some were all valuable and precious days to Jo Soo-mi.
Just as she performed the miracle of music that had permeated her on stage, I wonder if Jo Soo-mi's songs are miraculously reaching someone today.
Music always has amazing power in the right place.

--- p.64, from “Always Act Confidently”

“Actually, I can no longer carelessly say, ‘If you work hard, you will achieve it, and hard work never betrays you.’
Sometimes effort betrays you.
I've worked hard, so why am I still at this level? It's perfectly acceptable to think that.
I think that effort is more of a foundation than a check that guarantees results.
“It’s like a muscle that prepares itself to propel itself forward when luck, opportunity, or good timing comes.”
--- p.82, from “Make an effort to seize the opportunity”

“I’ve played many roles without names, such as mother, aunt, or someone’s wife.
In Mr. Sunshine, she was Ham An-daek, so she doesn't have a name.
But I think that those nameless people are the important points that make up this world.
“As an actor, I want to do a good job and have a positive influence on many ordinary people in the world.”
--- p.110, from “You must always live with a dream”

Some people might think that someone standing in the shade is not getting any light, but in fact, it may be a much more comfortable place to rest than in the sun.
So, it's okay if you don't necessarily climb to the top.
First, I need to be at peace, then I can freely try what I want to do.
There is no right answer to how to live life.
No matter what anyone says, only I can design my life in the way that suits me best.
Kim Sook is already steadily walking that path.
Whether anyone knows or not, it's always been that way.
--- p.163, from “Give Me the Control of My Life”

Those who know how to find and enjoy the sparkling moments in their repetitive daily lives are more likely to encounter happiness more often and in greater amounts.
Bae Cheol-su's day is the same.
It's the same old routine, but there's new music and new stories, and within that, he makes each day special.
--- p.185, from “Find a Gap of Happiness in Your Repetitive Daily Life”

Because no one can be an exception in society and relationships.
Someone must continue to speak out so that laws and institutions can be put in place to create a safer and better society.
In particular, I plan to continue to do my job as a troublemaker in the National Assembly, making a lot of noise and filing complaints, so that we can create a society where mothers like myself in South Korea can feel comfortable and safe.
--- p.210, from “Please keep raising the issue”

On the one hand, I think that because there were trials that I couldn't overcome on my own, I gained the strength to find my own way forward in any situation.
There were days when I was anxious and afraid, but as the saying goes, life is unpredictable, and when I am at a standstill, unable to do anything, an unexpected third opportunity presents itself.
In difficult times, resentment comes first, but if you stop for a moment and look around, you may see a path you hadn't seen before.
--- p.210, from “Opportunities can come from a third place”

“I became the Best One and the Lonely One at the same time.
“Rather than trying to achieve a unique position, I want to do activities that everyone can enjoy.”
People enjoy music and get inspired.
If someone were to experience another lubricant in life through dance, wouldn't their life, even if only a little, perhaps change in a completely different way?
Lia Kim believes that everyone can enjoy dancing and that everyone can become a little happier through dancing.
--- p.260~261, from “There is one thing you are good at, so be confident”

“I think life in politics is wonderful.
It's a profession where even the slightest weakness can lead to fatal injuries, and the winner doesn't just kill the loser with his own hands, but it also ends up causing the same result.
The decision to engage in politics for the social good under these dire conditions is in itself a great thing.
On the other hand, my life is not comfortable right now.
A life where I do what I love and meet people I love.
It's a happy life, but it's not a great life.
But I don't want to live a good life.
“I just want to live a life that suits me.”
--- p.289, from “Don’t live a great life, live a life that suits you”

Publisher's Review
Is there a right way to live?
The joy of endless conversation and conversation with only you

Talk about living life in your own place!

Everyone lives equally, but only once.
Therefore, meeting another person is like encountering a time I have never lived through.
If a person's life were a book, the only way to turn the pages and read and understand the sentences would be through conversation.
Here are 11 shapes of life.
Each person has different talents and lives in different ways.
Through conversations with 11 people, we can see that their lives were sometimes full of ups and downs, and were shaken and painful just like ours.
But even in those moments when they were not visible, they were living their lives, each doing their part in their own way.
There are no right answers in our lives.
It is about living the life that has been given to you willingly.
We cry, we sweat, we laugh, we live together sometimes, sometimes alone.
This book will be a quiet but warm encouragement that conveys living energy to those of us living in this era.

From IU's mental management method to overcome a slump
Where does Zico get his inspiration from, and how does he prove his mediocrity through his skills?

This book is a compilation of conversations between 11 celebrities who appeared on KBS's [Joy of Conversation].
The power of moments of conversation is immense.
Through this conversation, they shared their lives with the readers and reflected on the direction of their lives.
To fill the density of life, IU said, “Sometimes, in order to be sure of who I am and what abilities I have, I have to go inside myself and look at myself from the bottom up.
“At some point, we needed to take a moment to adjust and find our balance,” he says.
Vocalist Jo Su-mi, who confessed to having lived trapped on the island of music for over thirty years, realized by chance that she had been trapped on the island of music all this time and is now making constant efforts to escape from that island.
Zico learned how to shine through the ordinary and respect myself, and actress Lee Jung-eun learned how to spend her long periods of alone time wisely.
Kim Sook established her center even in an uncertain situation.
Bae Cheol-su learned to remain positive while walking his own path, and Professor Lee Su-jeong thought about how to do a little more good for the world.
Coach Park Hang-seo, facing a major upheaval in his life, considered new directions and opportunities, while Lia Kim was able to reflect on her goals, which she had been pursuing without looking back, and establish new standards.
The honest conversations they share will serve as a good starting point for readers to inspire them on where to take their 'life'.

It's okay to be a supporting actor, it's okay to be nothing special
If the center of my life is me, that's all I need.

Sometimes we compare ourselves to others in the spotlight and think, maybe my life is just a supporting role.
But what if it's not the top?
The important thing is to know that I am the main character of my own life.
Chasing only what is visible and trying to fit myself into the world's standards is a shortcut to losing my 'true self.'
Zico says that only I can set my own standards for happiness, and actress Lee Jung-eun, who has played nameless roles in many dramas and movies, adds that living well is enough as long as I live well in my own way.
Kim Sook, who has lived in obscurity for 21 long years, says that you can do anything freely if you plan your life in a way that makes you feel at ease.
Yoo Si-min, who has gone through steep ups and downs between being a writer and a politician, now smiles and says that he wants to live a life that suits him rather than a life that he thinks is great.
Knowing myself well and establishing a support system to support me is the first step in finding my path in life.
Through moments of conversation, the eleven authors slowly found a place to stretch out.
I hope this book will help readers grow trees to lean on.

“We are always wandering in search of direction in life.
And sometimes the answer comes from unexpected places.
Here, in a comfortable conversation between 11 people, no one knows,
I hope you find clues to the answers to life that you may already know.
There is no right answer in life.
“The place you are standing now is also one of the many shining paths.” - Yoo Hee-yeol
