I did it because I didn't want to lose and I wanted to look good, but you don't know how frustrated I felt at that time.
The main character of this book, Gomu Gloves, is also like that.
Rubber gloves, who work hard at anything, end up lying without realizing it because they want to be praised.
After that, my heart gradually becomes heavier.
Can rubber gloves really relieve a heavy, stuffy heart? After all, anyone can lie.
It's important not to lie, but even if you do lie, it's more important to be honest and know how to apologize.


No matter how upset you are, lying is difficult!
Today is Arbor Day, and the kids at Gap Elementary School are planting seeds instead of trees.
As usual, Gomugwang sits in the front row and diligently plants seeds in pots as the teacher instructs.
“Teacher, are you going to plug the hole in the flower pot with a small rock?” he asked, even checking repeatedly.

That's why I always work hard at whatever I do.
But there are things in this world that can't be achieved with just hard work.
It's like sprouting a seed, for example.

When the praise and recognition he so desperately wanted seemed to be fading away, Rubber Gloves unknowingly resorted to a trick.
I switched the name tags on my flower pot and the one on the glove that was busy playing around with the sprouts.
And then, I keep having to lie.
The name tag on the flower pot is torn because I spilled water on it, the seeds I planted are cucumbers, not eggplants, my stomach hurts… … .

Rubber Gloves, worried that his lies might be exposed, spends the whole day on edge, agonizing over his anxieties, and finally, he's truly devastated! He's been harshly reminded that the person who's hurt the most by lies and tricks is none other than himself.
But it's not that hard to get back on track because there are friends who don't scold or criticize those rubber gloves, but say, "Shall we do it together?"
When I see a rubber glove floating leisurely in the sky with a relieved face, I feel like I've become a little free from the idea that I have to be better than others at everything at any time.
