Although 《A Thousand Years of Picture Journey》 is a picture book, it is not a collection of paintings.
Therefore, you do not need to read another theory book to deeply understand the pictures in this book.

This book consists of a main text that serves as a map for the illustrated travelogue and an appendix that indicates latitude and longitude.
The text covers 140 topics, each covered over two pages.
The subject begins with a place, period, and title, and is supplemented with colored bands indicating geography.
A separate page is dedicated to exploring the 35 timeless masterpieces in more detail.
These pages have a black background to make them more visible.


The appendix, marked with latitude and longitude, can be used as a means to supplement the main text.
The chronology contains the birth and death dates of over 100 painters active between the 15th and 20th centuries.
Just as you can locate a specific location on a map using latitude and longitude, this table will allow you to grasp at a glance the influences and activities of contemporary writers.
Needless to say, I added a “Browse” section listing the artists alphabetically by name.
