Tokyo is so fun
Description
Book Introduction
Tokyo Travel Bucket List
101 Stories to Fall in Love with Tokyo
Tokyo is a fun city where cafes in traditional Japanese houses over 100 years old are nestled between towering modern skyscrapers, and on the way home from work, businessmen in suits stop by kidult boutiques without even bothering to hide their tired expressions.
In Tokyo's daily life, things that don't always fit together are captured in one frame.
On one side, there's a cozy Japanese confectionery shop, and on the other, a pretty parfait shop, each with its own distinct presence. From heartwarming nabe dishes to rich tonkotsu ramen and the Japanese soul food onigiri, there's an abundance of food everywhere.
After a day spent immersed in Tokyo's culinary delights and exploring unique shopping spots like stationery and antiques, the evening soon becomes dark and the "Gwa-ra" train departs, leaving everyone in a good mood.
Some people enjoy cocktails in a jazzy bar, while others enjoy the endless nights of Tokyo in a club filled with bright lights and exciting music.
Tokyo is a city that cannot be defined in one word.
As befitting the capital of a country, it is a very modern and trendy city, but equally as 'Japanese', traditional and manic.
Perhaps that's why the daily lives and scenery of people living in Tokyo, the so-called 'Tokyo-ers', are a bit exquisite and a bit complicated.
It's a hidden inch that travelers who only visit the popular and famous spots written in travel guides will never see.
Tokyo isn't just about famous Japanese restaurants, landmarks like Tokyo Tower, and neighborhoods with lots to see.
To see the real Tokyo, you have to go into the daily lives of 'Tokyo-ers' and see where they go, eat, and play.
This book shows you the hidden inch of a trip to Tokyo.
Rather than the famous spots that are on travelers' lips and frequently appear in travel books, the author, a Tokyo lover of 15 years, has opened up his hidden gem box and introduced only the places that true Tokyo lovers love and cherish.
From the t-shirt shops of cultural otakus to unique cafes and bars where you can play nostalgic games, well-hidden secret shops that are not easily found, izakayas where you can drink various highballs, 100-year-old old shops, and local restaurants loved by locals, we have carefully selected 101 themes to introduce spots so that you can experience and feel Tokyo travel together by stepping into their lives for a moment.
With just this one book, you can experience the same experience as living in Tokyo for a month, even if you only travel for one night and two days.

Into the book
“What do you like about Tokyo that makes you continue to live here?”
This is the question I've been asked most often since I started living in Tokyo.
You'd want a concise and clear answer, but I can't give a concise answer to why I love Tokyo, then or now. The food is delicious, the scenery changes with the seasons, the friendly people, and the little "snacks" you discover as you wander around the neighborhood.
This is good, that is good too.
I could write down all these good reasons and it would never end.
Next time someone asks me the same question, I'll answer like this.
“Um… I really enjoy spending time in Tokyo.”

Publisher's Review
"This is such a fun Tokyo" has these characteristics:
101 Tokyo themes that capture your tastes and trends
We are releasing a hidden gem box from a 15-year veteran of the Tokyo area.
We've compiled 101 themes to introduce the "real Tokyo" that only Tokyo residents know, rather than the popular tourist destinations that everyone knows.
We've carefully selected and prioritized everything from the "Tokyo Gourmet" theme that's essential for any trip, to "The Quirky Nights of Tokyo" where you can create special memories, to "Tokyo, the Shopping Paradise" where there's plenty to see and buy, from cycling to golf and even luxury goods.
"Local Hot Spots" that Reveal Hidden Sides of Tokyo Travel
We reveal places and sights in Tokyo that are popular with locals, not tourists, and that you might not know about unless you live there.
There are long-established stores that have been loved by Tokyoites for over 100 years, while there are also newly opened stores that enjoy explosive popularity as soon as they open.
What are the places that have garnered the "Likes" of "Tokyo-lovers," known for their sensitivity to trends and pickiness? A writer who runs a YouTube channel dedicated to Tokyo travel, and who vividly travels and reports on the area, carefully selects and introduces truly popular Tokyo spots never mentioned in travel guides.
Authentic local food and sweet desserts loved by Tokyoites
We've prioritized and compiled a list of authentic local restaurants where you can enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine, just like in Osaka.
From the ever-popular steady sellers, onigiri, soba, sushi, and ramen, to rice set meals, Western-style meals, and nabe dishes that allow you to experience the essence of Japanese cuisine, we have it all, as well as some lesser-known Japanese cuisine specialty restaurants like robatayaki and tachinomi.
Also, there are stores specializing in Japan's national dessert, "red bean," a local coffee shop beloved by Tokyoites, a crepe restaurant that will always make you think of it, desserts with gorgeous visuals, and even a pudding restaurant that has become a must-visit on any trip to Tokyo.
We introduce only the best local restaurants that you can eat all day long.
A Complete Guide to Japanese Shopping for Enthusiasts
As expected from Tokyo, a paradise for children's shopping, we've included fun and unique shopping spots.
From a hideout for stationery enthusiasts to American vintage shops, 100-yen coin shopping, Tokyo-style furniture shopping, romantic and unique outdoor activities, golf specialty shops, must-see record digger courses, weekend flea markets, camera and bicycle shops, and more, we've compiled a list of must-visit shopping meccas in Tokyo.
