Battle of the Red Sea
Description
Book Introduction
On that day when there was no road, God parted the sea.
And today, you make a way in my life too!
Remember the Battle of the Red Sea when facing life's great mountains, rough seas, and bitter waters.
『The Battle of the Red Sea』 God fights for us!
What should Christians look forward to when faced with the great mountains, rough seas, and bitter waters of life?
Pastor Hyun-Sam Cho of Seoul Gwangyeom Church publishes his new book, “The Battle of the Red Sea,” and delivers the message to believers living today, like the Israelites who stood before the Red Sea, that “God fights for us.”
The book's title is based on Exodus 14:14, "The Lord will fight for you."
The author chose the word ‘Dae’ (대) which means ‘replacing’ rather than the word ‘Dae’ (대) which means ‘great war’.
This is the Battle of the Red Sea, a war that God Himself is fighting for us.
The meditations that accompanied the Exodus journey are compiled into a single book, and are told as a warm story by a pastor to the congregation.

Into the book
We live each day with God's help.
Among our days, there are days when we endure and days when we barely hold on.
We call these days, these times, difficult days, but God tells us that we have done well and that these are the days you have loved with My help.
To us who confess, “I’m just holding on and enduring each day,” “Hey, you did your best.
Good work.
That's love.
You loved that.
“Thank you for holding on, thank you for enduring,” he said, patting me on the back.
--- p.48 From “There is a day to return home”
There are incubator periods in our lives too.
There are times when you have to live in Egypt and times when you have to live in an incubator.
There, too, there is God's will.
God has a plan.
You shouldn't rush then.
Until the time comes, you must stay in it.
There is work for God to do there.
When God's will is done, when God's time comes, God will lead them out of Egypt.
God did not design us to live our entire lives in an incubator.
That's not where we're going to live our whole lives.
When the time comes, we must leave Egypt.
After the Exodus, there is a beautiful land called Canaan.
--- p.72 From "Exodus, Exodus Incubator"
The Egyptians who were tormenting the Israelites saw and knew that God was working for them and that God was fighting for them.
There will be a day when they will know.
The day will surely come when they will know that God is working for us and fighting for us in the Great Red Sea.
The gist of what Moses said to the Israelites was, “God did it.”
We too must open our mouths and speak to those around us.
“Don’t be afraid, God will do it.”
“Let us see together what God will do for you.”
God is working for us now, fighting for us.
--- p.96 From "When the road is not visible at all"
In the Bible, there is a man who encountered a large mountain and named it 'Plain'.
“You will become a plain before me.” This naming contains faith.
This naming contains the belief that God will turn a great mountain into a plain and the wish to turn a great mountain into a plain.
This naming contains the space of God.
Jehovah Jireh, the name Abraham gave.
Jehovah Nissi, the name Moses gave.
Blessed are you, that is the name Jesus gave us.
Now it's our turn.
Let's start with naming your life.
--- p.118 From “Life is Naming”
Life has its problems.
Life is a series of problems.
There is no life without problems.
Running away from problems is not solving them.
Ignoring the problem is not a solution either.
The problem can be solved.
The problem is that if you let go, it will be solved.
The problem is not mine to solve.
God solves the problem.
There is no need to worry if there is a God who solves problems or a world full of problems.
When you walk with the Lord, you don't have to fear solving one problem and then encountering another.
God will solve that problem too.
God can solve any problem.
Now, our problems will also be solved if God solves them.
God, who solves problems, is waiting to hear from you now.
--- p.153 From “The Exodus journey and the path of life are very similar”
When Pharaoh of Egypt becomes king, he starts digging his own grave.
One of the king's greatest tasks is digging graves.
One of the king's interests is digging graves.
Not only did he dig a grave, he also built a funeral hall to hold his own funeral.
When a king becomes king, he should run the country while thinking about what he should do for the country and the people, but they focused all their attention on digging graves.
It really matters what you put your heart into and where you put your life.
Here again I feel how grateful I am for having the Bible.
God's will for us is not to dig our own graves and die.
God's will is that we live.
It is living in love.
It is to save and build up people.
--- p.188 From “People Digging Their Own Graves”
In our life's journey, there is an entry into Egypt and an exodus.
There is a time for eisodos and a time for exodos.
The important thing is that God designed this process and God is executing it.
Through this process, God made the weak Israel into a great nation.
God is doing the same thing within us.
We too are becoming stronger and more solid through the repetition of entering and leaving Egypt.
God will establish us as he established Israel.

Publisher's Review
There is an entrance and an exodus from Egypt in our lives too.
The Battle of the Red Sea shows us that our lives are a journey of becoming stronger and more solid through repeated entry into Egypt and exodus.
When we encounter a great mountain that we cannot overcome with our own strength, we can shout out like this:
“What are you, O great mountain? You will become a plain before me.” For God is the One who turns great mountains and valleys into plains, who turns bitter waters into sweet water, and who makes a path under the sea where there is no path.
Part 3 of the book contains the journey to Egypt to confirm the historicity and truth of the Bible.
Beginning with the question, “There is no palace in the land of Goshen,” the author embarks on a persistent and enjoyable exploration of the Bible, examining a vast amount of data to establish faith.
The reader stands before the author's confession and takes a firm step of faith.
Because there is no evidence more certain than the Bible, we hold its word in our hands and believe in the God of the Exodus as our God and our God today.
“God will also fight the Red Sea battle for us.
No, you are doing it now.
i love you."
