Prayer for Shaking Days
Description
Book Introduction
Beyond questions and doubts
Finally reaching the Lord
Prayer Psalms by Lee Cheol-hwan, author of "Coal Briquette Road"
“It is not a prayer full of wishes or a prayer for someone.
“This book saves lives!”
Recommended by KBS announcer Kim Jae-won, pastor Oh Dae-sik, and professor Lee Sang-eok!
This is 『Prayer of Shaking Days』, a book by author Lee Cheol-hwan, who touched the hearts of 4.3 million readers with 『Coal Briquette Road』, and is his first book in over ten years since 『Will I Be Happy if I Believe in Jesus』.
The artist has captured the journey of meditation, which involves frequently shaking and falling, but never completely falling down, and getting back up again, in paintings that he has poured his heart and soul into.
The tools at the writer's side are simple.
All I need are colored pencils, watercolors, and pencils.
Just like the author's previous writings and his personality, he writes, revises, and draws with simple and warm materials, pouring his heart and time into them honestly.
Because faith is about passing through questions and doubts and finally reaching the Lord, his countless questions, which felt like screams toward the heavens, became a 'prayer psalm' as cherry blossoms bloomed and fell and sleet fell silently.

Into the book
There was a time when I would recite Bible verses while walking down the street.
I wrote my favorite Bible verses on blue paper and pasted them on the wall of my studio.
One wall of the room was filled with memorized and to-be-memorized sayings.
Because there wasn't enough space on the wall, I added words to words.
I memorized the words as if I was eating rice.
The words in my memory miraculously came to me as the Lord's clear voice whenever I encountered an appropriate situation.
The pictures in my memory were deeper, richer, and clearer than the memories in the pictures.
As the wind blew through the open window, the sound of waves could be heard against the wall filled with words.
It seemed as if the horizon was visible beyond the waves.
I couldn't have asked for more.
Lord.
--- From "The Lord's Sea"
You are the shining star with a warm heart towards the pitiful things.
You are a shining star who lives by your convictions despite being pushed around here and there.
You are a shining star, like a wildflower that blooms anywhere but lives without any care.
You, who are heartbroken because you cannot live according to God's word, are a shining star.
--- From "You are the shining star"
I know that walking with the Lord is the only way I can be happy.
But my weak faith sometimes forced me to stay outside the Word.
Lord, have mercy on me.
--- From "Happiness"
Lord, I must look at you from the perspective of a sunflower.
There was a truth to the world that could be seen.
You have to look at it from the perspective of a dandelion
There was also a truth about the world that could only be seen for the first time.
--- From "Dandelion's Eye Level"
Even if we can't meet, there are faces we can see.
All beautiful things are his face.
Every tearful thing is his face.
Lord, there is one in everyone's heart
There are stars that twinkle even in broad daylight.
--- From "Starlight that Sparkles Even in Broad Daylight"
He who believes in the Lord can wait for himself.
… Even if there is a seemingly insurmountable barrier right in front of me right now, I can wait for the Lord, believing that if He is with me, I will surely overcome that barrier someday.
Even if I have a personality or habit that seems impossible to change now, I can wait for the Lord, believing that I will definitely be able to change it someday if He is with me.
Dear Lord, even when it snows, azaleas bloom.
Even if the cold spring weather is harsh, azaleas bloom.

Sometimes he paints with dots that are much more delicate than brushstrokes.
His paintings offer an unexpected aesthetic as dots of different colors confront and reconcile.
Dark colors, which were not easily chosen by people, also become the main characters in his paintings.
The author himself must have quietly embraced the grace of being used in the hands of the Master of life, even during dark times, as he went through depression, panic, obsession, and compulsion.
It gives the reader a quiet moment to look into the space of life.
It allows us to bring the imperfections and fragility of our lives, the pain and sorrow, to Him who sympathizes with them.
'As fears turn into prayers and the sighs of the day before turn into songs,' this is the moment when the author's words, drawings, questions, and doubts meet with the Word to become a single prayer.
So this book “is not a wishful supplication or a prayer for someone, but it saves people.”
