Book Introduction
In a changing era
Dreaming of rebuilding the Christian culture of this generation
Shouting the unchanging gospel!

A message from the representative of the representative Christian social media channel, Church Friends Gathering.
Christian Social Media Utilization Tips

Why is the global Christian population declining? Because more people are leaving the church than are joining.
What if every person who currently professes to be a Christian were to evangelize just one person? Even if this happened just once in a generation, it would be an unprecedented revival.
However, the reality is that many Christians around us who are born into the Christian faith choose to be infertile.
Christians need influence.
It is important to produce Christian cultural content that will have an impact on the world, that is, that will compete with and overwhelm the world's cultural media.
The author's organization, 'Church Friends Gathering,' is the largest Christian social media channel in Korea and is working day and night to achieve this goal.

Into the book
'Why is there no humor in Christian cultural content?' At the time, the only Christian cultural content uploaded online was videos of sermons and praise.
On Instagram, genres like calligraphy and meditation painting were trending.
I was only creating content that would receive grace.
As if something light or humorous were going to cause trouble, the image of Christianity posted online was full of dignity, seriousness, and solemnity.
Until just a few years ago, the online world was operated solely as such a space.
But I found this atmosphere really strange.

"What are you talking about? Church is more fun than a concert!" We've all probably laughed out loud at the pastor's joke during a summer retreat.
What about Christmas plays and skits? The parodies of gag shows prepared by the deacons during the New Year's Eve service are truly worthy of broadcasting right now. Church is such a fun place, yet the image of it online seems overly solemn.
Because I felt sorry about that, I decided to create content with humor from the beginning of the church friends gathering.
“Hey, that’s not like a Christian channel.” “Isn’t that too dangerous?” were the comments from people who saw the Christian humor post for the first time.
Every time I asked them back.
“What about the Christian channel?”

Frankly, the more we Christians, especially pastors, become, the more rare it becomes to find non-Christians in our network.
Aside from the people you meet at work, the people you truly become close to cannot help but be Christians.
Whether you are a member of the church or a minister, you will often feel that this network is constantly converging within the church community.
In this situation, the easiest way to reach out to our evangelistic targets is to showcase our church or pastors on social media.
There are people on social media who are our evangelistic targets and who are looking for a church.
The most powerful change of our time is undoubtedly the expansion of the contactless era brought about by COVID-19.
This presents a new ministry field for the church.
There is a story that Pastor Taehoon Kim (pastor of Jeilhan Church, head of the education team at the General Assembly Self-Reliance Development Center), a long-time colleague of our church friends gathering team, always tells.
"These days, a lot of people are doing remote ministry through Zoom or YouTube. But even this remote ministry has its own support.
Do you know who that is? It was the Apostle Paul, who wrote the Epistles from Prison.” When I first heard this, the room filled with laughter.
Paul was the pioneer of non-face-to-face ministry!

In short, marketing is like evangelism.
Evangelism (of course) involves persuasion.
A persuaded person accepts Jesus as his Savior, and a persuaded person becomes a customer who purchases a product.
But this persuasion has one peculiarity.
The point is that there is no right answer.
Let's say a child wants a toy and tries to persuade his mother.
There may be several ways.
Starting with simple methods like lying down in a store, grabbing the person's clothes, staring at them, asking them to buy something, even rubbing their shoulders, or making empty promises like they'll be obedient can all be quite effective persuasion methods.
If you have a smart and perceptive child, you can change the target of your persuasion from your impregnable mother to a relatively easygoing father or grandmother.

This is the essence of marketing technology.
Marketing must do whatever it takes to persuade.
It takes courage to try any method as long as it is not legally a crime and does not infringe on someone's freedom.
Just as evangelism isn't limited to street preaching, marketing isn't limited to online marketing.
You can evangelize by inspiring others with your life, or you can evangelize by arguing that Jesus really existed and that his resurrection was a historically real event.
--- p.98

Just because it's Christian content doesn't mean it has a low exposure.
It is true that as times have become more evil, non-believers have become somewhat colder in their view of the church. However, we believe that just as they have easily decided to hate the church, it is equally easy to change their minds and love it again.
People are ready to support anything that pleases and inspires them, whether it be a church or a business.
We must be willing to penetrate culturally and influence their lives.
