Into the book
“Of course I should go.
Yahoo and Tiger's wedding.
As you live, things like this happen.”
Everyone laughed at that.
I thought we would go to war with each other, but I never thought there would come a day when we would celebrate together.
Most of the Yahoos and Tigers in Korea have decided to attend today's wedding.
Originally, Mom and Sun had planned to have a small wedding ceremony with a few close friends, but when Yaho and Horang heard about the wedding, they all wanted to come, saying that they couldn't miss this special event.
In the end, we decided to hold the wedding at a resort owned by the crazy woman, so it ended up being much bigger than expected.

I saw my grandmother and mother right in front of me.
The expressions on both their faces were unusual.
Grandma and mom were crying.
The two of them had been wearing hanbok and dresses just a moment ago, but they were now in casual clothes, as if they had changed clothes at some point.
Autumn drew closer to my grandmother and mother.
But the two acted as if they had never seen autumn.
“Autumn, no.”
“Please, please, Autumn.”
Grandma and Mom called Autumn in sad voices.
My mother was clutching her chest and shedding tears, and my grandmother was standing there with a very painful expression on her face.
As autumn approached, the surroundings became dark again and then bright again.

“Seeing you, uncle, gives me courage.
My uncle kept missing my aunt.
I don't know about my aunt, but I hovered around her.
But I didn't show up because I thought I wasn't qualified.
If my uncle hadn't confessed to my aunt by now, what would marriage have been? They wouldn't have gotten together.
“What I need now is courage!”
Yujeong clenched her fists and spoke with confidence.
Some people live forever, so why can't there be eternal love?
Just because I can't do it doesn't mean others can't do it.
“Yoojung, do whatever you want.
I will support you.”
Autumn wanted to believe in Yujeong's romance more than in the reality of Susu.

“The reason why Lady Ungnyeo gave us, who were animals, the beads was for the well-being of this world.
It was not for the sake of Dangun that he stood on the side of humans, nor for the sake of protecting only the animals that were his roots, but for the preservation of this world.
We, the bead-bearers, have a responsibility to create a sustainable future.
“We must always live with this responsibility in mind.”
Jin introduced the activities he has done so far.
He has been working steadily for world peace and coexistence, not only for animal protection but also in movements against nuclear weapons and war.
Of course, Jin didn't do it alone.
I did all of that with Doho.

Autumn thought back on her life after becoming a member of the Yahoo tribe.
They had been running away for over five hundred years to avoid being discovered as a different species from humans.
I never seriously asked anyone why I had to run away.
I simply did it because I thought humans would hate it.
Because if they get caught, humans won't leave alone the being they consider a monster.
“It would be nice to continue living without changing my name.
“Sometimes I don’t know who I am.”
Yujeong said with a bitter smile.
Ga-eul agreed with Yu-jeong's words.
Autumn is living as autumn now, but as time passes, it will have to change its name again.

--- p.64

“This isn’t just for humans.
It's also a way to protect us.
Hiding is something only sinners do.
Maybe we became strange beings because we hid ourselves.
“If we reveal our true identities proudly, humans will no longer be able to harm us.”
Until now, Autumn has never revealed her true identity to humans.
I had no choice but to reveal my identity to Shinwoo, and although he was quite surprised, he accepted it well.
But not all humans are like Shinwoo.
Most of the humans who found out that Yahorang was not an ordinary human tried to chase him away or harm him.
However, Yul countered that humans began to avoid the yahorang because we were too scared and kept hiding.

Since the first volume was published in January 2022, 『Fifteen Years』, which has written a unique history as a youth literature, is concluding its story with the fourth volume.
As soon as the first volume was published, this book was praised as “a new fantasy born from our myths and old tales,” and readers flooded in with requests for the next volume.
Author Kim Hye-jeong, who has personally met thousands of readers through lectures at over 100 schools and libraries a year, has used the encouragement and support of readers as a source of nourishment to present the next story every spring, and each volume has been showered with enthusiastic praise such as, "a book so interesting you can't put it down," "a book that keeps coming to mind," and "a book that makes you look forward to the next volume."

I've met many readers who love and cherish 『Fifteen Years』.
Readers who have read each volume dozens of times, readers who have recommended the book to their friends, readers who have read it with their families, and readers who have prayed for my health and hoped for the next volume to be published safely.
Thanks to your support, I was able to write up to volume 4.
It wasn't me, it was you who made autumn pass.
_From the author's note

“If you reveal Yahorang’s true identity proudly,
“You won’t be able to harm us any more!”
Autumn's struggle to protect Yahorang!

Yahorang, who lives among humans while hiding his identity, suffers as a monster every time his identity is discovered.
Autumn holds a meeting to solve this chronic problem, and it is decided to feed the ghost beads to all humans who know Yahorang's true identity to erase their memories.
Gaeul knew that she would have to break up with her human boyfriend, Shinwoo, someday, but she didn't want to disappear from Shinwoo's memories like this.

At that time, Jongyaho Yul, who had been active as a kingmaker at every important moment in human history, proposed that Yahorang's true identity be proudly revealed to the world.
Autumn expects that the conservative Bonyaho and Bonhorang will oppose, but the Yahorangs accept Yul's proposal and actively prepare for the coming out project.
But after obtaining the complete bead and seeing the future, Ga-eul discovers that the Coming Out Project is a scheme to get rid of Yahorang...
Autumn's activities to protect Yahorang unfold once again in an exciting way.

“With or without beads, you are you!”
The owner of the first bead, Autumn's last choice

Autumn rescues a fox caught in a trap five hundred years ago.
That fox is the first Yahoin spirit.
Yeong is killed after giving up the first bead he had to save Autumn.
Autumn is tormented by guilt over the death of Yeong because of her, but proves that Yeong's choice was not wrong by uniting Yaho and Horang into Yahorang.
Afterwards, as Yahorang's guardian, he leads a peaceful era where Yahorang and Yahorang live together.
However, by accepting Yul's suggestion to reveal Yahorang's identity to the world, he puts Yahorang in the greatest danger.
Now, Autumn must make an irreversible choice to protect Yahorang's future and the one she holds most dear.

This book is a dazzling story of growth for the teenage protagonist, Ga-eul, and also the story of a new species of yahorang born from our myths and folk tales.
In this story, the author reveals the hidden story of why Yahorang's purpose was and why Yeong gave the first bead to Ga-eul, providing the most perfect ending.
The story ends, but Autumn, who has been given another life, will continue to grow with the readers.
