Into the book
Gratitude is a choice.
Rather than being thankful for the abundance of things that are objectively abundant,
We can be thankful because we choose to be thankful even in difficult times.
And I am happy because I chose gratitude.

Gratitude is a discipline.
After going through countless trials and tribulations,
Gratitude is something that is learned through falling and breaking.

Gratitude is a power.
He was thankful in advance when there was nothing to be thankful for,
The gratitude he gave was beautifully embodied in his life.
The gratitude we give today empowers our lives tomorrow.
--- From the text

When I start my day with gratitude for the grace God has given me, gratitude spreads through my heart like the scent of coffee and makes me happy.

--- p.4~5

The difference between Helen Keller and the complainers is not the difference in the content given.
The difference is in the attitude of gratitude.

--- p.7

If you can't think of anything to write about when you start writing a gratitude journal, try squeezing it out like sesame oil.
Things you never thought you would be grateful for will come to mind.

--- p.9

Gratitude is like surfing.
It's a movement that could create a boom.
I hope that a boom will start within the home first, and then spread to the church.

--- p.11

The fact that waves are raised by God.
God creates the waves, and we ride them.
So I pray that God will raise a wave of gratitude movement that will fill our lives with gratitude.

--- p.24

The most important prerequisite for overflowing gratitude is for the word of Christ to dwell richly within us.
You must keep the Word close.
We must not neglect reading the Bible.
Sometimes, the devotion to copying the Bible is necessary.
Bible memorization is an excellent tool.
Our goal is for the Word of Christ to dwell richly within us.

--- p.28

Gratitude isn't something you can achieve just by making a decision.
You have to make it a habit.
We must continually struggle until gratitude becomes a way of life.
I must continue to walk that path until a path of gratitude is created in my life.

--- p.32

We, with our sinful nature, create too many paths of complaint and discontent.
Complaints and dissatisfaction are things that come out naturally without thinking.
But this is not the way of life that God wants.
If we are transformed Christians, we must create a path of gratitude.
You have to make this a habit.

--- p.32

The first thing we need to recover in relation to gratitude is the recovery of gratitude for the grace of the cross.

--- p.35

The foolishness of man is that he does not know the value of something when he is enjoying it.
… In this respect, how much gratitude in reality are we missing out on now?
--- p.39

This is the part that most of us miss.
To a spouse, to parents, to children, to teachers, to friends, to any person we are grateful for, we must express our gratitude not only with our hearts but also with our lips.

--- p.45

Have you ever been on a hike and seen a single tree, and felt a sense of God's handiwork in it, and been amazed? Has your heart ever raced because of that tree? … We need to recover this sense of wonder.
We need admiration.
And we need gratitude to express that admiration with our lips.
If only we could be amazed by a single wildflower, if only we could express our gratitude for its grace.

--- p.69

We who believe in Jesus are beings who are not controlled by our circumstances, but rather can live a life of joy and gratitude that transcends them.

--- p.95

Gratitude is a discipline.
Gratitude is something that is learned through countless trials, countless pains, falls, and brokenness.
I hope that all the saints live a smooth life.
But there are times when God will enroll you in a gratitude training school.
I hope that at times like these, you can develop the ability to swallow your tears and choose gratitude.
--- p.103

Just as our eyes must be opened to see the spiritual world, so too must gratitude.
It is only when our eyes are opened to see the grace of God that has been with us in our hearts that we can be thankful.

--- p.117

Gratitude is a disposition, an attitude.
And it's training.
When we struggle to change our attitude and disposition toward the environment every day, that effort and struggle will lead us to live such a noble life.

--- p.124

Paul's gratitude towards people is endless.
Looking at Paul's actions, I realized that while it is important to be 'grateful,' it is also necessary to consider 'what we should be thankful for.'
In particular, I thought there should be ‘gratitude from people.’
--- p.131

Publisher's Review
Who wouldn't be able to express gratitude because they don't know how to? Even if you know how to express gratitude, it's difficult to do it properly.
Even when we encounter something to be thankful for, we don't know how to be thankful, or we know we are thankful but we feel embarrassed to say 'thank you', so we swallow it inside.
To us, Pastor Lee Chan-soo encourages us to live a life of active gratitude, saying, “Gratitude is complete when expressed!”
He then wittily mentions that the Chinese characters for gratitude are '감 (感) to feel' and '사 (謝) to give thanks', and that '사 (謝) to give thanks' is made up of '언 (言) to say something' and '사 (射) to shoot', and that if we feel gratitude but do not express it by speaking, we are not 'gratitude' but only '감감감'.
Being grateful, expressing gratitude specifically, and even going a step further and expressing gratitude in advance, even when there seems to be nothing to be grateful for at the moment, has the power to transform our lives into something very special and happy.
As part of specific training to live a life of gratitude, the author actively recommends writing 'gratitude notes' (for this purpose, '153 Gratitude Notes' has been published).
I hope that all readers will fully enjoy the benefits of gratitude through this book and live a life of gratitude. As the author puts it, I hope that every color in our lives will be colored by gratitude.
