First Encounter with the Novel: The Inclusive Set
Description
Book Introduction
A thin and beautiful paperback refurbished with a new sensibility
A welcome reading for those who have grown distant from books, a first encounter with a novel.

How can we help young people, increasingly detached from books, easily connect with literature? "First Encounter with Novels," a new novel reading series featuring lush illustrations and exceptional short stories, has garnered enthusiastic responses from readers since its 2017 release.
In 2021, we will present a new 『First Encounter with a Novel: The Inclusive Set』.

"Mother's Name" depicts the relationship between a mother and daughter who care for each other but who find it difficult to approach each other because of this.
This is the first youth novel by Kwon Yeo-seon, a unique writer in the Korean literary world, and it tells the special journey of a mother and daughter who overcome their pain and take a step closer to each other.
"The Season of Glass and Iron" depicts the process by which Tabitha and Amira, who are under a spell, come to understand each other.
By rewriting familiar fairy tale settings such as a prince who sets out to rescue a princess and magic shoes that grant special abilities when worn, it sheds new light on the 'women's stories' hidden within them.
In "Please Take Care of Our Minari," the dichotomous boundary between humans and machines is transcended, presenting a society where humans with body parts replaced with machines and artificially created mecha creatures coexist.
Through the story of the mecha dinosaur 'Carrot' and the biological dinosaur 'Minari', it asks how we will coexist with new beings that will appear in the future.

"First Encounter with Novels: The Inclusive Set" is a collection of works that broaden the horizons of thought with a thematic awareness that is one step ahead of reality.
Through these three novels, each with its own distinct personality, readers will learn to understand others who are different from themselves and to embrace the weak and minorities.
