Into the book
The Bible is the word of God.
The Bible gives us wisdom that leads to salvation.
The Bible is beneficial in all areas of life.
It arms us so that we are not lacking anything.
The Bible equips us for every good work.
The Bible, the word of God, helps us know God,
Furthermore, it leads us to know God.
It doesn't just affect individual lives,
It allows us to live lives that have an impact in the workplace where we work.
It also guides communities and nations to build on the right foundation.
The Shema Word School course is not simply about gaining knowledge.
Knowing, understanding, and loving the Bible, the Word of God
It's about living a life of obedience.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17).
--- From the text
When approaching the Bible, we must ask, "Holy Spirit, what do you want me to say through this passage?"
Furthermore, we must ask, "Holy Spirit, how do you want me to act according to your word?" and apply it specifically to our lives.
Because the fundamental purpose of God giving me the Bible is to understand, obey, and act as He shows me.
--- p.23
The Old Testament is filled with anticipation for the coming Messiah, and the New Testament is filled with encountering and worshipping the Messiah, and proclaiming Him to the whole world.
The Old Testament is like a shadow, and the New Testament is like the substance of that shadow.
The Old Testament contains the promise of salvation for the whole world, and the New Testament shows the fulfillment of that promise of salvation for the whole world.
--- p.31
When you open Genesis, there is God.
He is the Creator God.
He created everything we see by his words.
Hebrews 11:3 says, “By faith we understand that the universe was framed by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”
That is, what is visible is not something that comes into being on its own, but is created by something that is invisible.
--- p.51
God was in the midst of the camp of Israel.
In Acts 7:38, they are called the 'church in the wilderness.'
Just as God was with the church in the wilderness, our Lord Jesus is with us today in the New Testament church, leading us to a victorious life.
A wilderness is a desolate, dry, scary, and fearful place.
It is a place filled with anxiety, fear, and loneliness, and it is easy to lose direction and wander without a path.
But the people of Israel experienced God's presence even in the midst of it all.
Israel beheld God's glory and experienced his presence.
When God is with us, there is no anxiety or fear.
When you stay in God's presence, there is no wandering.
Because God goes ahead and guides our path.
--- pp.86-87
Daniel held a powerful influence on the empire as he resided in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar, the greatest king in history.
He learned his studies under the educational system of the time.
But he was not inferior to any prophet in the word of God.
While he was a politician and made a name for himself in a foreign empire, he maintained his intimacy with God, feared God, and revealed His glory.
Today's Daniel must rise up.
There must arise a person who fears God, is respected and trusted by all, and only brings glory to God, even while holding positions such as president, minister, member of the National Assembly, governor, or mayor.
Such a person is the one who leads the true Christian civilization reform movement.
--- p.291
What does the word "comforter" mean? This word is quite unique.
The original word is 'Parakletos'.
This word is a compound word of 'para' and 'kletos'.
'Para' means 'by' in English.
Its meaning is 'beside' or 'side by side'.
'Kletos' means 'the called one'.
When we combine the meanings of these two words, it means 'one who is called to perform a special mission and is by your side.'
The English translations of Paraclete are comforter, helper, and counselor.
In other words, the Holy Spirit is a ‘comforter,’ a ‘helper,’ and a ‘counselor.’
The Holy Spirit is always by my side, comforting me, helping me, my counselor, teacher, and guide.
He is my absolute supporter, sponsor, and the one who guides my entire life.
--- p.469
Romans differs markedly in tone and method from Paul's other letters.
Paul did not address the issues of churches he had not personally pioneered or had no connection with.
However, the Roman church was not personally founded by Paul and he never visited it, yet he dealt with the church's current issues.
Romans is the most outstanding, organized, logical, and rich of Paul's letters.
As someone once said, Romans is like a spring that is constantly gushing forth.
If you know Romans, you will know Christianity.
--- p.564
The time in Revelation is not the concept of chronos, human time, but of kairos, God's time.
It is not an understanding of exactly when, in what year, month, or hour, the end times will come.
When John the Baptist said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near” (Mark 1:15), the “time” he meant was kairos, not chronos.
It refers to the time when God will accomplish what he planned before the creation of the world.
The Book of Revelation awakens not only the early church but also all churches, including those living today.
It also gives hope and awakens us to live by faith.
--- p.754
Jacob took all his family and went down to Egypt.
They expected to return to Canaan a little later.
But 400 years later, they still remained in Egypt.
The situation worsened and eventually they became slaves in Egypt.
God's covenant with Abraham sounded like an unfinished symphony.
But that wasn't the case.
God used Egypt as a giant incubator or spiritual seedbed to carry out His will.
We must persevere with hope in any situation.
Hope is an anchor for the soul (Hebrews 6:19).
God's work is never interrupted.
God is always doing new things.
