The goal of this book is to help you experience big data jobs and duties in a way that no one has ever told you about before, as if you were hearing about them from a friend or senior or junior colleague.
To achieve this, we've refined the roles previously only covered by big data experts, drawing on the writing team's experience and knowledge, interviews with active big data experts, and thorough research.
In addition to job descriptions, it also includes the knowledge and skills required for each position and information needed to prepare for employment.


Furthermore, we've included several case studies to easily demonstrate how each big data function organically collaborates in the real world.
We hope that readers preparing for employment will thoroughly prepare for each big data career path and achieve their dream job.

This book is divided into four sections.
Each section specifically explains what big data is, what a big data expert does, what knowledge is needed to become a big data expert, and what preparations are needed to get a job as a big data expert.


In the first section, we explained what big data is, which has recently been in the spotlight, and discussed the resulting changes in companies and big data jobs, as well as the emergence of new jobs.
First, we divided big data experts into six job titles based on the tasks and characteristics that frequently appear in the big data industry.
Additionally, we included case studies based on projects conducted at actual companies to demonstrate how each job function works organically with other departments in the field.
The second section details the specific tasks of each job and includes interviews with big data experts who actually work in a variety of environments.
Even if you perform the same job in the same field, the experience will differ depending on each person's personality, background, and interests.
The writing team also believed that defining the job shouldn't be limited to just a few characteristics, so we interviewed big data experts with as diverse a range of experiences as possible.


In the third section, we covered the core knowledge and technical capabilities required for each big data job.
This content is based on our writing team's expertise, analysis of online job postings, interviews with big data experts, and interviews with corporate HR teams and executives.
