A timid young man meets his calling.
Description
Book Introduction
God does not make us by our ‘jobs and specifications’
Call it as it is!
A friendly guide to calling for young people who misunderstand their calling and struggle with it!
What does a young person (a timid young man) with a calling in his heart look like? While there are many books that discuss "calling," few actually capture the struggles and various failures young people face in life.
In that sense, "Timid Youth Meets a Calling" is not simply a theoretical book, but rather a book that stands shoulder to shoulder with young people, listens to their concerns, and offers warm comfort.
Many young people mistake ‘calling’ for ‘career’.
So, I wander around here and there as if I were on a treasure hunt.
But this book teaches us that calling is not something we seek out, but something we understand more and more deeply throughout our lives.
Only when we fix our eyes on God and begin to understand His will for our lives do we begin to live a life of calling.
This book also makes clear that the essence of calling is restoration.
Our calling is to work together as God restores this land.
Therefore, calling includes not only the restoration of my relationship with God, but also the restoration of others to return to God.
Where is the area of recovery that my eyes continue to linger on?
The "A Glance at the Realm of Recovery" presented in this book will help you think about more specific areas of your calling.
This book breaks the worldly worldview-based formula of "calling = success," and continues to emphasize that calling is a "process" of going before God as one's true self and growing within it.
It's okay if my life feels shameful and shabby right now.
God does not call us because we are great or perfectly prepared.
Now let us go before God with courage.
And let us begin the work that God has given us with sincerity and sincerity.
That very place will be the place of calling.

Into the book
A job is not a calling.
To be precise, God, the One who called us, is not very interested in whether we go to graduate school or get a job.
Let's think about it carefully.
What on earth does that have to do with God?
If you go to graduate school and write a brilliant thesis, will God be more pleased, considering it noble, and if you go to a large corporation and make a fortune, will He disapprove, considering it shallow? Is this really all He has called us to this world for? Do you really think so? This is a common misconception and a prime example of misapplication.
God is certainly interested in our lives, but our jobs are too meager and insignificant to be the reason and purpose for which we were called to this earth.
- From 『CHAPTER 01 Is a calling a profession?』
Rather than talking about achieving something, calling means restoration in all areas.
Our calling is to work together as God accomplishes restoration.
So, calling includes not only the restoration of our relationship with God, but also the restoration of others returning to God through us.
That is why calling always looks at people and souls.
It doesn't end with any work, achievement, or thing.
- From 『CHAPTER 01 Is a calling a profession?』
“I don’t know how to find my calling.
I think it's because I lack experience.
I'm thinking about going abroad.
“Wouldn’t seeing something new give you ideas?” “I’m thinking of quitting my job and looking for something else.
“Shouldn’t we try something new?” “Should we get a new certification?”
This is a story I hear quite often whenever I meet young people who are just beginning to learn about their calling.
They want to discover their calling through special occasions, as if playing a treasure hunt.
But calling is not about going out to discover some unknown world, like Columbus did when he discovered the New World.
Rather, it is closer to an act of understanding myself through my old diaries, through my family and friends who have always been by my side, and through the place where I am currently working.
- From CHAPTER 02 How can you know your calling?
Now, let's look honestly at the situation I'm in and face the fears and greed that are blocking my decision.
Even if you haven't been able to do it before, you can do it now.
Let us not be deceived by the world's cries for what we should be and let ourselves be packaged or defended.
That is not the calling that God demands of us.
Since it is God who accomplishes it and we are participating in it, we just have to go forward as we are.
What we need at this time is the courage to face ourselves honestly.
- From CHAPTER 02 How can you know your calling?
The fruit of a calling is not in making a lot of money or becoming famous, but in the recovery and growth of a person.
Our recovery and growth occur in the moments when we live each day faithfully, praying that God's will for us will be fulfilled.
We are also called this fruit.
It means not only my restoration to God, but also the restoration of others to God through us.
These fruits are not achievements or successes that are achieved or acquired all at once.
It signifies all the restoration and change that takes place in our lives as we become more like God.
- From 『CHAPTER 04: Will I be successful if I live according to my calling?』
There are times when I want to forget some traces of my life because they are embarrassing and painful.
That's okay though.
Because God does not call us to be his co-workers because we are great.
Also, God does not want us to come before Him perfectly prepared.
God, who already knows us well, calls us as we are.
Let us put aside our plans and thoughts and go to the place God calls us to.
And let us begin the work that God has given us with sincerity and sincerity.
I am sure that this very place will be the place of calling.
God does not want success.
He wants those who remain in the place of their calling as He has called them.
God does not need us functionally to accomplish anything.
Nevertheless, they continue to ask us to work together.
That is His calling in a relational sense, in which He is with us in love.
Therefore, we do not have to fear achievement.
Our faithful and perfect Lord never holds us responsible for the results.
