Counseling skills training through self-supervision
Counseling skills training through self-supervision
Description
Book Introduction
While the first edition was written with the intention of serving as a reference book for counseling trainees to help them solve problems they face in the field, the second edition strives to be more practical.
The second edition focuses specifically on providing practice problems and alternative responses for each counseling skill to increase usability.
We've redesigned the practice questions to practice counseling skills and have tried to describe the best possible responses counselors can make based on the protocol.
However, please keep in mind that the responses described in the textbook are not correct answers and are presented for the purpose of utilizing each counseling technique.

Additionally, in the second edition, we have filled in areas that we felt required further explanation in the first edition and have tried to enhance understanding of the treatment process by supplementing or adding cases.
We've also added a new chapter, Chapter 12: Counseling Skills, and added self-supervision notes to help you self-monitor your counseling process and skills.
