Grapefruit Apricot Club
Description
Book Introduction
"Grapefruit and Apricot Club" is a novel of the same name that is connected to the third EP music album to be released by singer-songwriter Han Ro-ro.
Since his debut single 'Ipchun', he has been creating music that tells the story of youth living in the shadows of society.
This may be because Hanro is a young man struggling to survive in South Korean society.
'Abnormal Flight', which cheers on the strange people who dream of ideals, 'Home', which exposes the chaotic world where we torment each other, and the next section of society that Hanroro looked at was 'Children Being Driven Out'.
In this era, not only adults but also children are being pushed to the edge of a cliff. I wanted to tell a story that stares us in the face with a frighteningly cruel reality in my third music album.
But it was impossible to fit all of that story into a music album that was about 20 minutes long.
Thus, Hanroro has presented us with a novel with a long storyline.
Four children who want to die meet in the secret club 'Grapefruit and Apricot Club' and decide to save each other.
The story of 'Soha', 'Taesu', 'Yumin', and 'Bohyun', who have come together because they cannot endure their own harsh lives, unfolds desperately with the goal of survival.
Through realistic depictions that seem as if someone has experienced them, Hanroro illuminates the various pains that have taken root in our childhood.
The purest and most beautiful times for children are hurt by adults who are worn down by reality.
Just by witnessing the tragedy of this cruel era through the novel, readers will be alert to their own cruelty and have the opportunity to become more tolerant adults.
