Publisher's Review
The Joseon family's action drama has arrived!
Let's meet the Sahwa and Imjin families who brought about the bloody storm.
『Joseon Dynasty Real Talk』 is a historical educational comic series that reconstructs Joseon history in chronological order. The kings that formed the Joseon Dynasty are divided into nine families, and each family is given a character that matches its historical characteristics.
『Joseon Dynasty Siltalk』 Volume 2 covers two families from King Jungjong to King Gwanghaegun, following the 'founding family' (Taejo, Jeongjong, Taejong) who founded the Joseon Dynasty covered in Volume 1, the 'wise prince family' (Sejong, Munjong, Danjong) who laid the foundation for the Joseon Dynasty, and the 'tyrant family' (Sejo, Yejong, Seongjong, Yeonsangun) who usurped the throne through a coup.
The main characters of the 'Sahwa Family' are King Jungjong and Injong, who caused the Jungjong Restoration and the Gimiyo Purge, and King Myeongjong, who was governed by Queen Munjeong, the main character of the Eulsa Purge.
King Seonjo, who abandoned his people and fled during the Imjin War and became synonymous with cowardice in Joseon history, and Prince Gwanghaegun, the ill-fated crown prince, are grouped together as the 'Irish Family.'
Volume 2 covers fewer kings than Volume 1, but it contains many exciting stories, as it deals with the historically bloody purges and Japanese invasions.
As with Volume 1, we included Professor Lee Han's 'Silok Magnifying Glass' to provide a more detailed and richer understanding of the mid-Joseon period.
