Book Introduction
25 cities in 21 countries around the world, including New York, Paris, Lisbon, Prague, and Madrid.

A world tour with an omniscient perspective

Everyone has a travel dream or bucket list, whether it's living abroad for a month, seeing the Northern Lights, a road trip, or a desert tour.
However, realizing one's travel dreams is hindered by practical constraints such as busy daily life and concerns about travel expenses.
Beyond realizing the romance of travel, the author of this book has decided to live a 'life of travel' and is putting it into practice.
The author, who is also an official Naver travel influencer, travel creator, and photographer, has included life travel destinations from 25 cities in 21 countries in this book.

This book contains bucket list items I accomplished through walking trips, including skydiving in Wollongong near Sydney, Australia, while enjoying the ocean view; going on a tour of the pristine Wadi Rum desert in Jordan; working and traveling in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the mecca of digital nomads; seeing masterpieces in person with a docent at an art museum; and trekking in Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, the inspiration for the movie Avatar.

I highly recommend this book to anyone considering a vacation this summer, anyone looking for new travel destinations and fun things to do, or anyone curious about other people's experiences with places they've already been.

Into the book
I hope this book serves as a helpful example of how travel gives you more than what you pay for.
For those who think leaving home is hardship, I hope this will be a chance to grab a ticket to their destination once again. For those who are curious about what an experiential traveler's journey is like, I hope this will be a small relief. For adventurous travelers who visit map apps and flight search sites every day to find new places, I hope this will be a tempting suggestion.
It doesn't have to be a trip.
I hope this book will be a meaningful encouragement to everyone who has pledged to create a life of their own.
--- From "The experience of my life is proportional to the number of steps"

Free fall lasts about 20 seconds before the parachute opens.
How does it feel to be dropped from the sky without any equipment? It's like the thrill of riding a Viking and then descending, like your heart pounding. It's about 100 times more intense.
I'm falling, surrendering to gravity, but my thoughts are the opposite.
I feel weightless.
Even the thought of being scared makes me jump up into the boundless sky.
A head that is so empty.
The Australian ocean filling my field of vision was as vast as a picture of Earth's ocean taken from space.
It was a moment when I became a free traveler on Earth, as if I did not belong to any land.

--- From "Chapter 1, There is a city that you fall in love with with one strong memory"

For the experiential traveler, a two-day, one-night stay in the Wadi Rum desert was more of a vacation than a vacation.
It's not just memories that fill me with new scenery.
The feel of the sand, the shape of the rocks in the desert, the colors of the sunset, the scent of traditional food, the brightness of the stars in the darkness, I am expanding the world I know with my whole body under it.
Every time I feel like I've gained experience, I feel lighter and more positive.
Time in the desert was the perfect rest for an empiricist.
--- From "Chapter 2, The World We Know Has Expanded"

On the last day, I looked at the Eiffel Tower from the bridge, shining like a gold medal, and thought.
A journey is not something that is completed through someone else's words, but through my own steps.
The appearance of a city can change infinitely depending on the weather of the day, where I stay, the alleys I pass, and where my gaze is directed.
So, let's decide not to jump to conclusions until we experience it ourselves.
That's how Paris became one of my favorite cities.
--- From "Chapter 3, It's Okay Not to Love From the Start"

Chiang Mai is called the 'mecca of digital nomads.'
It's not just called that in Korea.
Chiang Mai is the definition of a global digital nomad whose office space encompasses the entire planet.
Chiang Mai is a region with affordable living costs, accommodations, and convenient infrastructure for using a laptop, including Wi-Fi, even for long-term stays.
As many freelancers of all nationalities gather, communities and shared offices are also active.
Within it, we seek collaboration with each other and gain a sense of solidarity and positive stimulation.
Here, you can enjoy temple festivals, flea markets, and night markets.

--- From "Chapter 4, Somewhere Between Daily Life and Travel"

The highlight of my trip to Croatia was Plitvice Lakes National Park (Plitvi?ka jezera).
Plitvice Lakes is the national park that served as the inspiration for the movie Avatar.
In fact, the lush forests and waterfalls resemble the backdrop of a movie.
'I can't believe a place like this exists on Earth!' It was a place of such scale and scenery that it made my thoughts stop in their tracks with one last surprise.
In the large and small waterfalls, streams, and lakes, a splendid light like that of turquoise flowed.
Lush trees are meticulously placed throughout the jewel-filled forest.
In the midst of the great outdoors where one can feel the diligent vitality, all one can do is exclaim, “Wow…”
--- From "Chapter 5, Once Again Even After I've Gone"

Despite the many difficulties and ups and downs of the journey, I was able to continue to enjoy traveling and look forward to the next time thanks to the people I met at every moment, from preparing for the trip to after the trip and until I opened the front door of my house again.
Friendly staff on the plane and at the airport check-in desk.
Locals who readily answered my awkward questions in an unfamiliar place.
Travelers who treated me like a friend simply because we were staying in the same room.
Her parents readily believed in her daughter's decision to quit her job in 2023 and embark on a long journey alone.
Even my younger sibling sends me a message asking what I'm doing when I get home.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone.
Thanks to you.

Publisher's Review
“My goal is to complete my life through travel.”
My life experience is proportional to the number of steps I take.

The author of this book worked as a travel agent and travel editor, and is currently working as a travel creator and photographer.
He achieved a 'hobby-job-loving' effect by turning his love of traveling into his job.
She also runs a Naver blog called 'Ttukbokineun Yunseul' with over 10,000 subscribers, and communicates with over 1,000 Brunch Story subscribers.
Not only do they share their travel stories and photos, they also generously share travel tips that they have discovered themselves.

The author opened his eyes to a new world through a trip to Osaka, Japan, which he took in his early twenties with the money he earned from part-time jobs.
The experience of living in a foreign country where I didn't even speak the language well became an opportunity to break the mold of my thinking, making things I took for granted seem not so obvious.
This led the author to love traveling and further influenced his career choices as a travel editor, travel creator, and photographer.

Choose according to your taste and romance
World tour of 25 cities in 21 countries

This book introduces 25 cities from 21 countries, divided by theme.
If you are thinking about where to go on vacation this summer, we recommend the following destinations.
In Wollongong, about an hour from Sydney, Australia, you can enjoy ocean view skydiving at a cheaper price than in Europe.
Australia has a livable climate all year round and is also great for skydiving.
If you choose the additional option, you can also take photos and videos of your entire skydive.

If you're looking for new travel destinations and activities to enjoy, we recommend the Wadi Rum Desert Tour in Jordan.
Wadi Rum is well known as the filming location for the movie Dune.
Phone calls, text messages, and the internet are difficult to use, and since it is designated as a protected area, travelers can only enter through a tour package.
If you are looking for a unique travel experience with preserved nature, why not try a desert tour?

If you're curious about how other people feel about places they've already visited, I recommend this book's travel story about Paris, France.
The author says of Paris, France, "It's the European travel destination that everyone has visited except me."
As the author travels more than anyone else, acquaintances sometimes ask him in wonder why he has never been to France.
The reason I postponed my trip to France for a while is because of the common opinion of people who have been to Paris.
The review was about being disappointed by the dirty streets and smell.
The author decides to go to Paris and check it out for himself.
But what the heck.
From art museums where you can admire masterpieces like the Louvre and the Orangerie, to leisurely enjoying a baguette in the Luxembourg Gardens, to Disneyland.
The author literally falls in love with Paris.
And then I think.
Let's not jump to conclusions until we experience it ourselves.

This book not only covers the author's experiences traveling the world, but also provides travel tips, must-see places, and must-eat foods recommended by a traveler who has personally traveled there.
This book can be said to be a reliable travel companion and guide for the backpacker Earth traveler.

No matter how long the journey, it will eventually end.
There is nothing in life that cannot be solved.

Of course, not all romantic and enjoyable things happen at your travel destination.
Even though I was fully prepared, I encountered an embarrassing situation in Shanghai because my payment app didn't open properly, and an episode where I bought a train ticket from Florence to Pisa but was told by a station attendant that the ticket was invalid because I didn't punch it. This episode captures the unexpected situations that even a "planned traveler" can't avoid.
While traveling, it is easy to encounter situations that exhaust you both physically and mentally.

The author was an introvert who was afraid of new challenges, but through his walking journey, he came to realize that just as any long journey eventually ends, there is nothing in life that cannot be solved.
He also says that people who are kind to strangers are what make him continue to travel and enjoy it.
The author wrote this book with the hope that it will serve as a case study to help people understand that travel gives them more than they pay for.
I hope this will be a meaningful encouragement to everyone who wants to create their own life independently, even if it's not necessarily through travel.
