The Gospel of the Country Doctor
The Gospel of the Country Doctor
Description
Book Introduction
“Hello, I live in the countryside! How have you been?”
A warm gospel that flows out little by little while happily wrestling with the elderly in the Gyeongsang Province countryside.
YouTube's "Country Doctor TV" Director Hwang's Gospel Prescription!

The author raises two daughters while caring for patients in the countryside, and serves by leading the choir at church every week.
In this book, he sincerely and humorously reflects on the boundaries between life and death, the difficulties of forgiveness and prayer, and the nature of community and faith.
His gaze, which captures the essence of faith even in the small moments of everyday life, is sometimes deep and sometimes warm.
In particular, the unvarnished comfort and encouragement delivered through the YouTube channel “Country Doctor TV” are fully reflected throughout this book.

In the "Introduction," the author expresses his hope that those who desire to obey the Word and reveal God's love will find a new starting point in their lives through this book.

Into the book
Sometimes we feel so hurt and wronged that we simply cannot forgive.
But when I look at the cross of Jesus, I realize that forgiveness is not something I have to endure, but rather a way for me to become free first.

--- p.17

I hope our prayers are not a time to pour out what we want, but a time to listen to what God is saying to us and respond to it.
--- p.28

God knows our needs better than anyone else.
Even though He could give us more, isn't it possible that He doesn't grant us our wishes because He knows that too much can be poisonous, so He might be saving us?
--- pp.72-73

How can humans fully understand God, the Creator of heaven and earth? Is there anyone who truly knows all the answers to life? Only Jesus can do so.
--- p.83

We have no right to condemn anyone.
I'm not in that position.
I hope we don't become hypocrites, the kind of people Jesus hated the most.
--- p.91

When we dive into the rough seas of this world, if we let go of our own strength and rely on God, an invisible, powerful force will lift us up.
It is the buoyancy of God.
When we rely on that strength, we can navigate the sea called 'the world' with ease.
--- p.129

God wants us to worship Him in spirit and truth, offering our lives as a living sacrifice, and coming to Him with a broken heart.

--- p.163

We are Christians who accept Jesus as our Lord and strive to become like Him.
Being like Jesus doesn't mean turning away from or rejecting the persecution, suffering, anger, and hatred that come our way.
Rather, we spread peace to the world by absorbing it into ourselves with compassion and enduring it.

--- p.181

We must look at it through Jesus' eyes.
We must live in grace and be humble.
When my ego collapses and I consider others better than myself, my prejudices disappear.
You can escape from the 'spiritual Nazareth' filled with prejudice.

--- p.192

For Christians, boasting means denying oneself and living a life that reflects the grace that Jesus showed on the cross.
The world prides itself on being high, but Christians pride themselves on being low.
--- p.225

Publisher's Review
Author's Note

Come with me before the Lord
I wish you would try a little harder!

The life I desire is simply a life that is a little more honest before God, a little more devout, a little more patient, a little more free from greed, a little more caring for my neighbors, and a little more sharing.
This book is not intended to teach you anything.
It is simply a record of an ordinary believer's struggle to stand before God in a slightly better light.

If there are any of you reading this who feel the same way, I hope you will join me in being a little more fervent before the Lord.
The Lord will hold us up as we fall together, rise together, and walk together on the path.
I hope to live believing and hoping for that loving hand.
