Romans follow-up
Description
Book Introduction
The sixth story in the “Follow-up Investigation Series” by Saemulgyeol Plus, “Follow-up Investigation of the Book of Romans,” has been published as a single volume.
This work, which began in May 2024 on the Christian webtoon site “Ektoon” and was completed after about a year and two months of serialization, is a work that was painstakingly completed by author Kim Min-seok, who has always received great responses by presenting the process of thinking about and exploring Christian faith and culture in a friendly grammar and illustrations.
Scholars have differing opinions on the central theme of Romans, which is called the Bible of the Bible, and traditionally, Paul's soteriology is considered the most logically organized theological letter. However, the author, who was saddened by the reality of the Korean church where hatred, line-drawing, and stigmatization of those with different opinions were rampant, focused on the situation of the Roman church at the time, which was divided in two, facing an irreconcilable conflict, and on Paul's message that wanted to solve that problem.
The author questions the original message of the gospel that Paul preached by weaving together the narratives of Ji-yu, a young man losing his faith, Chi-seon, his lover who hides her wounds, and the people around them, based on Romans 9-15, which particularly focuses on the relationship between Israel and Gentiles and between Jewish and Gentile believers.
“Is the Gospel Still Good News for Everyone?” Through this, the author makes us all, living in an age of division and hurt, reconsider the meaning of faith, love, and coexistence.
"Romans: A Study of the Gospel," as the author has done in his previous works, deeply explores theology with a popular sensibility, reminding us that "the gospel is still a warm story."
For those who wish to reread Paul's letters with a fresh perspective that allows them to connect with other generations, and for believers who still dream of love and coexistence in an age of hatred and who live as Christians within the church and society, this book will be a warm comfort.

Publisher's Review
Not drawing lines arbitrarily (Romans 14:13), not arbitrarily judging the failures of others (11:11, 31), and ultimately, the will to coexist in the great love of God (15:7).
Sensing such a will from Paul, who seemed like a rigid theologian, I began to actively dive into the words of the Book of Romans, and that is how 『Further Study of the Book of Romans』 began.
