The courage to start again
Description
Book Introduction
To all those who have decided to walk again, even when they are on the edge of a cliff, even when there is no hope, even when they are afraid.
A Narrative of Recovery from Professor Ra Young-hwan, a Mentor of Hope for Youth
Recommended by Kim Young-woo, Yoo Im-geun, Lee Mi-na, Jang Jae-gi, and Hwang Tae-hwan (Ha Jun-pa-pa)!
This book is a story of God's restoration for all who are going through moments when everything seems to have stopped and they cannot see ahead.
When you are on the edge of a cliff, when you are too scared to move, when no matter how hard you try, nothing changes, there is another beginning and recovery, from a biblical perspective.
Professor Ra Young-hwan is a professor of systematic theology at Chongshin University. He is a life mentor to young people, offering them biblical advice and comforting them, and sharing the gospel as a source of strength to rise again.
This time, I wrote a letter of love containing the truth of faith for those who find it difficult to trust in God.
Through twelve narratives of restoration, including Moses, who fell into learned helplessness but experienced the restoration of his identity, and General Naaman, who had to obey small things before experiencing great miracles, this book presents a direction for Christians to look toward and conveys the faith and courage to move forward, trusting in God regardless of the situation.
'Failure and frustration invite us into a broader life story.
The tone of this book, “Rise Again with God,” is far from one that demands the right answer.
Along with in-depth biblical interpretation, he shares his own honest experiences, including his missionary work with students at Chongshin University and his enlightenment through his son, helping people naturally change their thinking.
As you immerse yourself in the story, you will discover that the answer to life is not simply problem-solving, intense effort, challenge, and boldness, but rather that trusting in and obeying God's Word is essential to problem-solving.
Furthermore, through this book, which tells the story of God-led restoration, you will learn that the small, difficult steps you take today can change tomorrow.
It is also a good evangelistic gift for the weary and those walking in the wilderness.

Into the book
God wanted to restore Moses like that.
“And God said, Come no near here; put off your sandals from your feet, for the place whereon you stand is holy ground” (Exodus 3:5).
The statement that the place where he stood was “holy ground” was a very shocking challenge to him.
Until now, he had never considered it a holy place.
For him, it was not a holy place, but rather a place of failure and frustration.
It was just a lonely place where the craftsman Jethro used to herd his sheep.
But God changed Moses' perspective by saying to him, "The place where you are standing is holy ground."
_Stopping is not the end, it's the beginning
--- p.33
The path of mission we are sent on is by no means a light or easy one.
It is a fearful thing, like sheep going among wolves.
Moreover, I do not have sufficient human or material resources to carry out that mission.
No, it may not exist at all.
The problem is this.
Will we stand still in fear, or will we trust and obey God's word, overcome our fears, and move forward? _Forging the Barren Path with Faith
--- p.61
Our God is the Creator God.
He is the God of power.
He is a God who will surely fulfill whatever He says.
That God has set his will upon us.
We are the masters of our environment.
The environment I belong to cannot help but change through me.
Don't like your environment? It's our job to change it.
This is the Christian sense of calling.
Finding Your Calling in Chaos
--- p.114
What we expect may be just as big, flashy, and dramatic as Naaman expected.
But the laws of the kingdom of God are not like that.
It's like a small mustard seed.
It may seem like something as trivial as wading into the Jordan River and washing your body.
Even if it seems small, let's move forward with faith, one step at a time.
_Today's small obedience changes tomorrow.
--- p.161
We are interested in having our weaknesses removed.
But the Lord says:
“Leave your weakness alone.
Weakness is not a disability.
Weakness cannot defeat you.
Rather, it becomes an opportunity to complete you.” _A new story begins in weakness
--- p.215
The mission of the remnant of this age, the mission of the holy seed, is first to break away from the past.
A break from the past is not a break from the next, but a break from the despair that prevailed in that era.
And it goes according to God's will.

Publisher's Review
There have probably been times when you felt like your life was on the edge of a cliff.
Moments when everything seems to have stopped, moments when you can't see the path ahead and even taking a single step feels daunting...
This book is a confession and encouragement for those who are standing in that very place.
When a dream is shattered, it can feel like the end of the world,
It's not really the end.
Just as there are still undiscovered paths out there, hidden somewhere beyond the map, another beginning lies hidden within our small courage and unsteady steps.
Failure and frustration do not stop us, but invite us into a broader life story.
To all those who ask themselves, “Is this path I’m walking meaningful?” and “Can I get back up?” I want to tell them how they can regain strength and see their lives anew through stories of encountering God at the edge of life’s precipice, experiencing miracles in the wilderness, and discovering healing and calling in everyday life.
Just as the elders of faith who influenced me in my youth, I hope this book will give someone the courage to stand up again, and I hope that those who read this book in the distant future will also be a source of strength to someone else.
