I started writing to list down my likes and dislikes in order, but I ended up going down that path by mistake.
At the age of twenty, I was drawn to the camera's unique appearance, so I bought a used one, and since then I have occasionally lived a photographic life.

It cannot stand the smell of people, and so it often goes on long journeys, but soon returns to be among people.
Know that there is no need to try to change, because the truth is that change is impossible.

He is weak to things that operate on electricity, and because of his constitution, he often starves and overeats because fat that enters his body does not escape.
I don't get along with people who don't drink.

I'm old enough to know how to keep track of time, and when I need to open the floodgates to my abnormal moods, I start using things like speed, chocolate, and earphones.

I can't stand one-sidedness, but sometimes it's one-sided towards you.

Editor's Note - Attraction, a record of the past five years!

A revised edition of 『Attraction』, which gave birth to a new genre called travel essay when it was released in 2005, has been released.
Since its first release five years ago, "Attraction" has conveyed a sense of emotion that traditional travel books, which focused on information delivery, lacked. It has become a hymn for young people thirsting for travel, love, and romance. Even now, when travel essays have become a firmly established genre, it is still considered one of the best bibles.


The cover concept for the newly launched 『Attraction』 is ‘people going on a trip.’
People arriving at the train station one by one with their suitcases and people heading somewhere decorate the cover of the book.
The author took photos of cute figurines he personally purchased while traveling in Europe, making the reader excited even before opening the book.


The 2010 edition of 『Attraction』 is not just a revised edition with a changed cover or design.
Five years have passed since the first edition was released in 2005, and traces of those years have been inserted here and there in the notes.
More than a third of the book is filled with new stories about overlaid memories, times, and relationships.
The photos were also half filled with new photos.
Longing, curiosity about people, loneliness, waiting, and yet the passion that made me constantly move around and tirelessly draw and take pictures deepened, becoming warmer and sweeter.
For the author, poet Lee Byeong-ryul, travel was an unstoppable path of destiny, a path from which he must return in order to depart again, so his travel notes, which capture time, were bound to change as well.
A journey to confirm your love for people.
Even at this very moment, the pull of this 'road' that makes me wander on the map to go somewhere else, the resonance of my soul.

『Attraction』 is a book like a poetry collection that breathes emotion into each page.
There is no table of contents or pages, so of course there is no order.
If you open this book anywhere, that is both the beginning and the end.
Just like the memories of a trip.
Then, I can immerse myself in the photos and text that resonate deeply with me.
That's the destination, that's the road.
