Since the first edition of 『Medical Terminology Explained in an Easy-to-Understand Way』 was published in 2009, revised and supplemented editions have been continuously published for approximately 13 years.
In particular, as the Korean Medical Association Terminology Committee published the 6th edition of medical terminology, this book has also been published in its 4th revised edition based on the 6th edition.
The most notable feature of the 6th edition of Medical Terminology is that when there were multiple Korean headings presented in the 5th edition, we tried to unify them into a single heading in the 6th edition.
This is expected to make the use of medical terminology much easier and more convenient for students and clinical practitioners by unifying the existing mix of new and old terms into one and reducing confusion.
The main features of the 4th revised edition are that, first, the medical terminology headings in this book follow the 6th edition of the Korean Medical Association's medical terminology, and second, in cases where there are multiple Korean terms for one English term, only the first Korean term that is used in the national examination and recommended by the Korean Medical Association is presented as the heading.
Terms that are used together are listed on the right side of the text for reference.
Third, by providing definitions and explanations of medical terms as concisely and clearly as possible, we have prevented difficulties and confusion caused by excessive explanations, thereby making it easier to learn medical terms.
Fourth, we created QR codes for each page of the medical terms in the text, allowing you to listen to the original pronunciation by Professor Ji Je-geun directly on your smartphone, thereby facilitating effective learning through seeing and hearing.
Fifth, many illustrations and photographs have been replaced or added compared to the third revised edition.
