How to Write a Comprehensive Psychological Evaluation Report 2
Description
Book Introduction
Five years have passed since I wrote "How to Write a Comprehensive Psychological Evaluation Report," emphasizing a structured framework and a wealth of resources available for report writing.
I wanted to include a lot of material, but there was a lot that I couldn't include at the time. I wanted to add it right away and write a book, but I didn't have the resources, so I'm only now able to publish my second book, which focuses on children and adolescents with disabilities.
Among the included tests, it was particularly difficult to define the scope of intelligence tests. We attempted to present all cases in which the Wechsler Intelligence Scale IV was administered, but in cases of uncommon or representative cases, reports including the K-WAIS or K-WISC-III were also included.
Although these are very few cases, the results of the ADS (Attention Deficit Scale) and the Basic Learning Function Test are described so that they can be referenced when necessary.
Additionally, for early childhood disabilities, examples of K-ABC and social maturity were included.
Even in the case of questionnaires, rather than trying to match the consistency of all reports, if there was a corresponding questionnaire, such as K-CBCL, KPR-C, or JTCI, it was included as is.
DSM-IV terminology is still widely used in mental health settings, including hospitals, and all reports included in the book used DSM-IV diagnostic names when they were first written, so the existing diagnostic names were left as is.
If you want to conduct a psychological evaluation rather than a test, you must have knowledge of psychopathology as well as knowledge of the test itself.
Therefore, we tried to include as many disorders and cases as possible to help with pathological understanding, and at the beginning of each disorder, we summarized the psychological process characteristics that frequently appear during evaluation.
However, rather than relying solely on this information, we recommend that you first study the disorder individually when you suspect it, and then look at the disorder-specific report.
