This second edition of 『Solution-Focused Family Counseling』 has the same structure as the first edition seven years ago, but we have tried to include new content.
This revised edition consists of 12 chapters in 2 parts.
Part 1, 'Theory and Techniques of Solution-Focused Family Counseling', consists of six chapters and contains the information necessary to understand the development, principles, case conceptualization, counseling process, and techniques of this model.
Chapter 1 introduces the history behind solution-focused family counseling.
Chapter 2 describes the assumptions and principles that form the basis of solution-focused family counseling, and explains the counselor's attitude and case conceptualization.
Chapter 3 examines the principles of goal setting, which are important in the first counseling session.
Chapter 4 describes various questions that can help you develop solutions.
Chapter 5 describes messages, the therapeutic feedback that differentiates this model from other family therapy models.
Chapter 6 describes the questioning techniques used after the first consultation.

Part 2, 'Solution-Focused Family Counseling in Practice', consists of six chapters, from Chapters 7 to 12, and applies this model to various problems and subjects.
Chapter 7 is about solution-focused counseling for children and adolescents, Chapter 8 is about addiction issues, Chapter 9 is about infidelity issues, Chapter 10 is about divorce issues, Chapter 11 is about solution-focused parent group counseling, and Chapter 12 is about solution-focused counseling supervision.

Chapter 1 of the second edition has some revised content on social constructivism, and the clinical and research trends in solution-focused counseling in Korea have been rewritten to reflect recent research and survey results.
The conceptualization of the solution-focused counseling case in Chapter 2 has been supplemented to make the process and content more specific and practical.

Chapter 7 has been revised to reflect domestic and international research results on solution-focused counseling for children and adolescents published since the first edition. In the section on applying solution-focused counseling to children, some existing content has been deleted and new intervention methods have been added.
Chapter 9 contains some supplementary content based on literature published overseas since the first edition on solution-focused couples counseling and solution-focused approaches to trauma.
Chapter 10 briefly summarizes the existing content on the divorce process by deleting some of it, and in the description of counseling during the divorce restructuring stage, the content related to mediation is deleted, and the focus is on the solution-focused counseling approach.
Chapter 12 Korea

In the real-life family counseling supervision, we provide counselors and supervisors with examples of solution-focused family counseling by presenting actual counseling content and supervision through couple cases.
