Studying counseling cases
Description
Book Introduction
This book is a follow-up edition of “9 Experts + Studying Counseling Cases, and,” which was co-authored by 9 people 11 years ago.
The foundation for 'Studying Counseling Cases' was laid by Professor Jang-ho Lee and members of the Hankyoreh Psychological Counseling Center (advisors, director, expert committee members, interns, and public case presenters) through providing cases, cross-commentary, impressions, and proofreading. Afterwards, it was completed after two years of multiple proofreading and review processes with the active cooperation of Professor Jang-ho Lee's students and counseling psychology experts in the academic society in providing cases and commenting.
Ten years later, when the revision was being discussed due to the need for new case replacements to meet the needs of the times, Professor Lee Jang-ho unfortunately passed away, and after his retirement, the author, who had been by his side for over 20 years, learning from him and becoming familiar with him, had to contribute, however small, to reorganizing the publication projects he had written together with him. Through various processes, the new edition was finally published with difficulty by directly and indirectly providing and leading nine new cases (main guidance), commentaries, and impressions.
The title of this book was used to honor the will of Professor Jang-ho Lee, who published the old "Studying Counseling Cases" in 2007 and continued to write about counseling psychology for his students even after retirement. By including the late Professor Lee as a co-author, one of his existing cases and theories were included as is.
Another co-author is a junior counselor who has worked with the author for 12 years at the Hankyoreh Psychological Counseling Center and is currently a professor. He was included as a co-author for his contribution of providing two personal cases and four commentaries.

Publisher's Review
This 'Study of Counseling Cases' was planned with a complex purpose that encompasses the following four categories of content and intent.
First, it was planned to create a collection of Korean professional counseling cases that would serve as a guideline for studying domestic counseling case trends through real-life cases reflecting recent Korean realities.
Second, by observing and modeling the counseling styles of experts with extensive experience in the field, and by including and listening to the cross-commentary of other experts with different characteristics, as well as the impressions of undergraduate or graduate students majoring in counseling who are encountering counseling cases for the first time, we aimed to provide an opportunity to learn about various perspectives and viewpoints on a single case.
Third, when studying counseling cases, it is necessary to learn the procedure for writing a case report and, while understanding the supervisor's comments, to learn the outline of the counseling approach for each major symptom and problem.
The content that meets this need is summarized in Part 4.
Fourth, this book includes examples of the natural ecological counseling approach developed by the author long ago.
The core of natural ecological counseling is not a model in which the counselor exhausts himself by continuously helping the client through conversation alone in a square concrete space, but a counseling model in which the counselor and the client move together and become healthy at the same time. The goal is to cultivate psychological inner strength (self-power) through a virtuous cycle of mental and physical recovery and growth conversation through nature-friendly mutual exchange between the counselor and the client.
By presenting some cases in this book, the author hopes to emphasize the spirituality of Shinto and Buldang and to provide constructive discussion for Korean counseling.
