This 7th edition of "Law School Family Law Standards" covers Supreme Court precedents issued up to April 2025, as well as cases up to and including 2024 under Law No. 20432.

We have maintained the visualization of 142 family law cases from the "830 Standard Civil Law Cases" of the Law School Council, which received a great response from readers, and have corrected all typos and minor errors from the 6th edition. In addition to editing for better readability, we have also adjusted the number of asterisks indicating the importance of legal provisions to suit the situation of 2025.

This textbook has been consistently proven to accurately and faithfully address all family law issues in the multiple-choice, case-based, and written formats of the bar exam, and this has been reaffirmed in the 14th bar exam in 2025.

In order to accurately and efficiently master the contents of this textbook, connect them with property law principles and apply them to cases, and specifically anticipate the types of questions that will appear on the exam, it is essential to attend the “[Prehistory] Family Law Complete Summary + Past Question Explanation Lecture” held every July using this textbook.
Although it's a short lecture of about six sessions, it's enough time to review all types of past questions from the bar exam and mock exams, and to present anticipated issues for next year's family law exam and classify them by importance.
Furthermore, the “[Final] Family Law Final Special Lecture” held in December has always received a great response from test takers.
In the 1-2 final special lectures on family law, I accurately predicted the case law on 'Biological mother and child born out of wedlock', which was the biggest issue in the 10th Bar Examination written test, as the top priority, including the format of the written test. In the 11th Bar Examination case test, I predicted the case law on 'Biological father and recognized person's right to claim payment of value under Article 1014' as the top priority question and hit the mark perfectly.
Considering that in both cases, family law was the most frequently cited issue for applicants, it would be difficult to ignore the importance of family law on the bar exam.
