Designing STEAM-Based Maker Education Classes
Description
Book Introduction
STEAM-based maker education is structured around an analysis of perceptions and needs for maker education and the development process for maker education. The perceptions and needs of elementary school students and teachers, the primary participants in STEAM-based maker education, were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 statistics.
Based on the analyzed research results, maker education was developed in the following order: 1st to 3rd period: designing my own paper house, 4th to 6th period: drawing my own paper house plan, 7th to 9th period: making my own paper house, 10th to 12th period: exhibiting my own paper house. The maker education development stages were organized according to the development stages of the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (topic outline - learning objectives - subject elements - stage elements - curriculum restructuring - teaching and learning process plan - evaluation plan).
