Book Introduction
In Korea, which follows the national curriculum, textbooks based on the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum were developed and applied starting with the 1st and 2nd grades in 2017 and up to the 5th and 6th grades in 2019.
Accordingly, until 2021, when the revised 2015 mathematics curriculum is applied, textbooks and guidebooks were developed starting with national textbooks and then transitioning to a system of approved textbooks. However, in today's society characterized by pluralism and diversity, elementary mathematics textbooks will be completely converted to an approved system starting with the revised 2022 mathematics curriculum, and in reality, many types of textbooks and guidebooks will be taught in the field in the future.
This book is comprised of seven chapters, focusing on the content areas of the 2022 revised mathematics curriculum: Numbers and Operations, Change and Relationships, Shapes and Measurement, and Data and Possibilities. It covers the concepts of textbook research and the essential knowledge and skills that teachers must know in each content area, based on specific examples.
