Analects of Confucius
Analects of Confucius
Description
Book Introduction
The Analects are a collection of Confucius's sayings, conversations between Confucius and his disciples, conversations between Confucius and the people of his time, and the words and conversations of his disciples that expand on Confucius's sayings.
After Confucius returned, he gathered, discussed, and compiled the records that his disciples had each written down.
The Analects of Confucius were introduced to Korea before the reign of King Sinmun of Silla, and since its use as a textbook for national studies, it has been gaining vitality from readers seeking the fragrance of classics.
Because the original sentences of the Analects were brief and concise, the translator focused on exposition.
Following the first edition in 1991 and the second edition in 2005, the third revised edition was published in 2011.
