How to write a paper in the humanities and social sciences
How to write a paper in the humanities and social sciences
Description
Book Introduction
It is truly a pity that an enthusiastic beginner stumbles over the rocks of composition rather than the rocks of ignorance.
So, although this book is modest in scope, its goals are firm.
The idea is to provide only a rough guide for researchers in the humanities and social sciences who are beginning to write academically.
If the words 'thesis writing' bring to mind some kind of ritual or ideal, you should immediately shake off that illusion.
There is no magic there, but that doesn't mean there is no path at all.
It is simply a skill of honest practice that requires clear thinking, precise language, and a constant commitment to the combination and interpretation of facts.
The composition is as follows.

ㆍPart 1 'begins' the basics: It covers understanding the essence of a thesis, the process of selecting a research topic, and critical evaluation of prior research.
ㆍPart 2 provides the ‘background’ for the inquiry: methodology, nuances of data, and interpretation of literature and texts.
ㆍPart 3 is about entering the 'real' of creation: writing an outline, organizing the introduction and main body, and then drawing a smooth conclusion.
ㆍPart 4 pursues provisional "completion" through refinement, presentation, and publication: Along with the practical procedures of revision, review, and sharing one's achievements with the world, it also inevitably mentions the intersection with AI, a modern-day Prometheus.

I reject grandiose words and unhelpful authority.
I won't even claim any plausible perfection.
So, I hope that you will now put aside your experience and stubbornness in the special purpose training course called academic writing.
If you are willing, let us move forward now, in a spirit of inquiry and acceptance.
