A Lawyer's Startup Guide
A Lawyer's Startup Guide
Description
Book Introduction
"The Lawyer's Startup Guide" is a legal and accounting guide covering the entire startup life cycle, from founding and closing to exit.
This book was co-written by two experts: a lawyer who has closely observed entrepreneurs, and a lawyer and accounting expert.
As the title suggests, I believe that the book contains accurate information and case studies based on field experience, as lawyers and accountants who are involved in the beginning and end of startups.

The most common mistake made by aspiring entrepreneurs who want to start a business but lack legal knowledge is asking others to “figure it out for me.”
We published this book to serve as a "legal compass" to help them start their own businesses.
The book covers legal issues related to the entire startup process, from choosing between sole proprietorships and corporations, attracting investment, shareholder agreements, risk management, and exit strategies, including IPOs, M&As, and closures.
It explains complex legal concepts in an easy-to-understand manner, covers accounting knowledge, and features checklists and summary pages at the end of each chapter.
Furthermore, because various situations from actual startup sites are applied to virtual cases, readers will be able to directly apply them to their own situations.

Publisher's Review
The most common things I hear while advising startups are, “I don’t know the law well,” and “I don’t know much about taxes.”
These are aspiring entrepreneurs who have no choice but to become dependent because they don't know much.
However, this kind of dependent attitude poses a great risk in the process of starting a business and attracting investment.
Through our extensive legal and accounting consulting experience, we've recognized this issue and realized the need for a comprehensive guide combining legal and accounting knowledge.
I wrote this book because I felt that there was a need for a book written in the language of business people, which is easier than the language of the law.
Moreover, because the Korean startup market changes faster than deregulation, legal risks can hold founders back at any time.
While it would be ideal if entrepreneurs who jump into new businesses and create their own opportunities hit the jackpot, I wrote this book with the hope that it will serve as a minimal safeguard should they face the risk of failure.

While writing the book, I realized that the process of organizing our experiences and knowledge was not easy.
Moreover, through publication, our mission to provide you with a 'minimum legal safety net' has become stronger.
I hope this helps solve the legal conflicts and accounting issues faced by real-world entrepreneurs, and I'm proud to be able to unravel the difficult and dry topics of law and accounting through the lens of my own life stories.
Above all, I hope this book will give entrepreneurs the courage to move forward, believing in themselves and their colleagues, amidst uncertainty.
