Into the book
I love the beach in Mlini, a small village about a 15-minute drive south of the old town.
It is a place where an old watermill used to press olives for oil and pine trees that have embraced the sea breeze for a long time welcome you.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, walking along this beach with my husband and a cup of coffee felt like a natural healing experience.
---p.15 From “Interview 1: Why I Settled in Dubrovnik”

Although the food cultures of the inland region, represented by Zagreb, and the coastal region, represented by Dalmatia, are quite different, they are similar in that they primarily use ingredients produced in that region.
(Omitted) In coastal areas, freshly caught seafood is simply cooked to preserve its original flavor.
Croatia's simple yet sophisticated cuisine is another delight every time you travel to a new city.

---p.34 From “Local Cuisine, a Bountiful Table Gifted by Nature”

Split's origins date back to the palace built by the Roman emperors in the 4th century.
After the fall of the Roman Empire and the invasion of barbarians that came like angry waves, the people began to build their lives in the strong and solid fortresses of the emperor.
Despite the many changes of rulers and the terrible wars that tore through Croatia, Split's ruins remained largely unscathed.

---p.139 From “Why We Must Go to Split”

On December 6, 1991, the Yugoslav People's Army, which opposed Croatian independence, indiscriminately shelled all of Dubrovnik, including the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
During the eight months of brutality that followed, the eyes of the world were focused on Dubrovnik, at the southern tip of Croatia.
(Omitted) Dubrovnik's pride does not come from the deep blue sea and magnificent old buildings, but from the hardships Dubrovnik has endured over the years.
---p.181 From “Why We Should Go to Dubrovnik”

If you had to visit just one of Croatia's 1,000+ islands, it would definitely be Hvar.
Hvar Island, blessed with abundant sunshine, is ideal for grape and olive cultivation, and is a land blessed with lavender and rosemary blooming profusely throughout the island.
The island's center is Hvar town.
There are many old buildings here that show the island's history, and there are also many beaches where you can enjoy swimming.

---p.242 From "Hvar Island, a Blue Island Covered in Lavender"

Publisher's Review
'Ah… I want to go to Europe sometime.'
The start of the European trip
The easiest travel destination in Croatia!

Where can I travel to satisfy my bucket list item of 'travel in Europe'?
The first European destination that travel publisher Note & Note strongly recommends is Croatia.
It is a vacation spot loved by Europeans and is also regularly visited by world-famous celebrities such as Beyoncé and George Clooney.
A travel destination visited by approximately 160,000 Koreans as of October 2024.
There is certainly a reason for this fame.

Croatia's biggest appeal is its low difficulty level for travel.
From north to south, just five key cities along the emerald Adriatic Sea complete this tranquil and profound journey.
Starting in the capital city of Zagreb, the trip reaches its highlight when you pass through Plitvice Lakes National Park, the setting for the movie "Avatar," Zadar, the city of sunsets that will last a lifetime, and Split, home to the palaces of the Roman emperors, and finally Dubrovnik, the filming location for the HBO drama "Game of Thrones" and a UNESCO World Heritage site for its entire Old Town.
The joy of traveling is filled with the natural beauty, low prices, and friendly and kind people.
