Book Introduction
"Vocabulary at Your Fingertips" is a guide to improving your vocabulary.
As the title suggests, it was created to ‘make vocabulary accessible.’
Based on analysis of high school textbooks and past college entrance exam questions, we have carefully selected and included 1,000 essential vocabulary words that students, especially high school students, must know.
We have compiled 200 Chinese character idioms with their origins, 200 Chinese character idioms with their meanings and examples, and 200 proverbs frequently used in classes and past exam questions.
I omitted proverbs that everyone knows because their meaning is obvious.
Includes 200 pure Korean words and idioms, 200 Chinese characters, and a total of 1,000 essential vocabulary words with examples.
Additionally, easily confusing Chinese characters, opposites, and antonyms are clearly organized.
Because the indexing is well done, you can easily look up unfamiliar words.

Publisher's Review
It's word, stupid!!
-The problem was vocabulary.
The secret weapon that students with exceptional learning abilities and those who achieve more success than others have in common is vocabulary.
-Just as raising your body temperature by 1 degree significantly increases your immunity, increasing your vocabulary by just 10% will dramatically improve your learning ability.
-A miraculous book that will increase your vocabulary just by reading it comfortably.
A book that will help you remember the vocabulary you need for the exam.
A treasure trove of books that will guide you beyond academic success to life success.
-A guide to improving vocabulary written by Mr. Hwang Woong of Minjok History High School.
Since the first edition was published in 1998, countless students have read it and experienced remarkable results.
They know, but I have to admit that there may be things I don't know.
They may be smiling and talking to themselves as they watch you struggling with learning difficulties.
“Idiot, the problem is vocabulary!!”
Vocabulary and learning outcomes are inseparable.
Parents who lament, “My child is glued to the desk all day, but his grades are not good,” should definitely check their child’s vocabulary.
In reality, there are students who study for a long time but do not see their grades improve, while there are students who study for a short time but still achieve good grades.
The difference between the two students lies in their reading comprehension skills.
Having good reading comprehension, the ability to read and understand language and text, can lead to high academic achievement.
What is the foundation of reading comprehension? It's vocabulary.
Once you encounter an unfamiliar word, it is impossible to read the sentence 100%.
You can improve your reading comprehension by increasing your vocabulary.

It affects not only vocabulary and learning ability, but also social life.
The words that a person uses are collectively called vocabulary.
Vocabulary is a medium that not only allows us to convey our thoughts to others, but also to persuade and influence them.
Therefore, knowing a lot of words will not only allow you to express your thoughts clearly and accurately, but will also help you to think more clearly.
There are also research results that show that people who are ahead in vocabulary are ahead not only in learning ability but also in social life.
A vocabulary experiment was conducted in the United States with two high school classes with similar socioeconomic conditions.
One class taught only the regular curriculum, while the other class taught vocabulary learning courses in addition to the regular curriculum.
When the grades of the two classes were compared at the end of the school year, the students in the class that received vocabulary instruction had significantly higher grades in all subjects than the students in the class that did not.
Another experiment was conducted by Dr. Johnson O'Conor of the Boston Ergonomics Institute on working people.
Dr. O'Connor administered a vocabulary test to 10,000 young professionals studying to become executives.
The results were amazing.
Five years later, everyone who had scored in the top 10% on the vocabulary test had become an executive, while none of those who had scored in the bottom 25% had become an executive.
Based on these experimental results, Dr. O'Connor concluded that "one common characteristic of successful people is that they use accurate vocabulary and have a rich vocabulary."
In fact, we can easily see around us that people with a rich vocabulary live rich lives and ultimately achieve success.
It's not too late.
Even now, you should practice increasing your vocabulary every day.
Parents as well as students should read [Hand-On Vocabulary] together.
And then ask each other questions and try to solve them.
Just as walking every day raises your body temperature and improves your health without you realizing it, looking at [Hands-On Vocabulary] every day will naturally increase your vocabulary, enhancing your learning ability and improving your social skills.
