Publisher's Review
Story 1.
Mr. A, whose book is too heavy

The first step to learning Spanish book I bought with determination.
With a package like this, including a workbook, vocabulary list, CD, writing notebook, and even a mini-book, I thought I'd be able to have a conversation with a Spanish person in three months.

“It’s 300 pages, so if I do 10 pages a day, I’ll finish it in 30 days!” I was confident, but the problem was the weight.
When I put it in my bag, it was almost like a brick.
I ended up just studying at home, and the time I spent on the bookshelf was longer than the time I had in my hands.

Story 2.
Mr. B, who started learning Spanish casually but ended up becoming a slave to installment loans

One of the things on my bucket list this year was to 'study Spanish and travel to Barcelona.'
So, when I looked into study content, I saw a package priced around 200,000 won.
Although it was burdensome, I thought it was not a bad investment since it was 20,000 won per month if divided into 12 installments.
But… after two months, I had no willpower left.
All that's left are 10 months' worth of installments and a bitter bank statement.

Story 3.
Mr. C, trapped in perfectionism

I signed up for a one-year pass to Spanish classes, determined to do it right this time.
At first, I tried to organize my notes carefully and pronounce them perfectly like a native speaker, but my progress just kept falling behind.
'My pronunciation isn't perfect, so let's skip it for today... I'll start again tomorrow.' I kept putting it off like that, and before I knew it, half the course period had already passed.
My desire to do it perfectly eventually stopped me.

〈First Steps in Spanish〉 is a book for the protagonists of such unfortunate stories.

* A simple study guide for those of us who are physically and mentally burdened by our busy daily lives.

A person with a lot of miscellaneous things in his bag.
A person who has a lot to do every day.
A person who wants to do a lot but lacks perseverance.
Anyone who wants to start learning Spanish.
People who want to learn the basics of a foreign language in the shortest possible time.
People whose New Year's bucket list still remains a list.
If any of these apply to you, I strongly recommend that you 'open' this book first.

We can't be sure that we'll be studying consistently even after a few months because of the 'annoyance' that feels like a part of our body.
So, “First Steps in Spanish” was created to help you take a light step forward.
If you pack too much on your first step up the mountain called 'Spanish', you will quickly get tired.
Just one book! Studying it thoroughly and then deciding what to do next is a more efficient use of time and money.

* A study guide that solves everything in one go in one volume

“Spanish has too many verb conjugations.”, “Spanish has separate masculine and feminine nouns.” These legends are actually true.
But this isn't just something that applies to me; it's something that any Korean who wants to learn Spanish finds unfamiliar and difficult.
Since you absolutely have to lay the foundation, it will take some effort at first.
The key is to study with the right textbook to overcome the difficulties that everyone faces.

〈First Steps in Spanish〉 is designed to be as easy and fun as possible to help you continue your efforts.
We have systematically organized the basics using our online Spanish course know-how.
The vocabulary and expressions learned in this course are structured so that you can repeat them over and over again so that you never forget them.

Learning a foreign language is not a 50-meter dash.
You must not get tired, you must not get bored.
If you feel obligated to be consistent, you can easily become tired.
The "First of all, the series" takes "not giving up" as the first criterion for studying a foreign language.
So, the book was organized into a study guide format.
As you feel a sense of accomplishment as you complete each lesson, your Spanish skills will improve before you know it.
I recommend this book to anyone who has ever wanted to study Spanish, or to anyone who has put Spanish aside for various reasons, as a good guide to help them think about what comes next.

〉〉 Spanish letters & pronunciation

We have created a separate pronunciation section to help you learn the alphabet and pronunciation, which are the core of learning basic Spanish.
Build a solid foundation by listening to and imitating native speaker pronunciation.

〉〉 Review of the past lesson

Just like the workbooks we used to use when we were young, we can review the key grammar, sentences, and vocabulary we learned in the previous lesson by solving problems.

〉〉 Vocabulary & Vocabulary Practice

First, learn the 'words' that fit the subject.
Because it is frequently used, it is also good for application.
You can use the words you have learned to solve problems right away in 'Word Practice'.
The types of problems are diverse, including fill-in-the-blank, line-connecting, and puzzles.

〉〉 Sentences & Sentence Practice

Moving beyond short words, you will learn 'sentences' that are good to use in situations related to parts of conversation or topics that will appear later.
You can use the sentences you have learned to solve problems right away in ‘Sentence Practice.’

〉〉 Conversation & Conversation Practice

Learn the text of 'Conversation' that corresponds to the topic.
Korean commentary is provided at the bottom, and both male and female native speaker voices are provided.
You can learn the expressions and grammar you need to know, sentence by sentence, in detail in the 'Conversation Practice' on the next page.
The meaning of each word is written right next to the sentence, making it easy to interpret.

〉〉 Grammar & Grammar Practice

Study 'grammar' based on expressions that appear in sentences and conversations.
It is neatly organized with colorful grammar tables so that it stays in your memory longer.
You can learn grammar through repeated study in 'Grammar Practice' by turning the next page.

〉〉 Speaking & Listening & Reading & Writing

Make the Spanish you have learned so far your own by learning it once more through ‘speaking’, ‘listening’, ‘reading’, and ‘writing’.

★ Appendix

〉〉Collection of Spanish Q&A Patterns

We've compiled frequently used question and answer patterns for each situation in real life.
You can quickly improve your conversational skills by using it in various situations such as 'asking for directions', 'ordering at a restaurant', and 'introducing yourself'.
It is structured step by step, from short and simple expressions to increasingly applicable patterns.

〉〉A practice book where you can review only the key phrases once more.

This is a review material that collects and organizes only the key grammar, vocabulary, and expressions learned in each subject.
You can review what you have learned and practice repeatedly by filling in the blanks and writing.
It's useful when you're preparing for a test or want to quickly review only the parts you absolutely need to remember.
